I had one beast named Polly, she is possibly the most inconsiderate bitch on Earth. She strong, she's fast, she's basically the "Kitten of Ultimate Darkness".

then, my GF had to move in her two females Jackie and Animal. Jackie is very sweet, doesn't want to fight at all, just wants someone to scratch her, even while Polly hisses. Animal is a little neurotic, but she's pretty laid back, doesn't really want to fight.

Well, Polly has them cornered in the bedroom, and won't let them leave. I basically cannot get them out from under the bed. When I do, Polly runs them back into the bedroom then patrols the door.

I'm trying to give equal time to each batch of cats, but I have to lock Polly in anther room so she doesn't fight them. Which cats should I let sleep in the bed if they can't get along? How should I introduce them after segregation?

Polly is being dominant. You have to assert yourself as alpha. You are number 1, all others are subserviant. If you let her, she will continue to hold the others under her control. You must break that pattern.

Try a squirtgun. Fill with plain old water, and squirt her everytime she chases, hisses, etc. Make her squirm under your steely-eyed gaze. You have to make them think you are the king. Avoid yelling or loud voices, as that just makes them panic. Face to face staring contests sometimes works. Hold her attention until she shows capitulation.

Basically, let the old Hustler out.

watch a few episodes of My Cat From Hell where they bring two cats together. it usually involves a baby gate with a towel to block the view and putting food bowls on each side and removing the towel and moving the food bowls as close as the cats are comfortable... then slowly decreasing the distance between.

Put both cats in a small room with food and water. Oh yeah, and a litter box. Seal them in for a day.

It sounds like trolling, but this is what I've done in the past. It worked great. No casualties and kitties were happy to coexist after coming out.

I now have a "baby-gate" divider from room to room so they can hiss at each other through the gate. Last night at 3am someone broke the gate down and there was a damn mutiny. Is this anything like child-rearing? Why would you people want to do this with a human?

you just have to keep them at a distance. let them smell, but not see each other. put a blanket over the divider to block sight.

have them feed on either side of the gate so they become acustomed with being around each other (they can smell) and being associated with good things like food/treats/toys.

maybe in a week or two, THEN let them see each other when feeding, then maybe after that slowly introduce them.


You should also rub a sock over each and keep it next to the other's food/water dish so they smell the other cat and again associate it with good stuffs.

Not true, my cats and dogs get along together fine. The more dominant dog keeps the others in line, in a peaceful way. They even all sleep together on the same bed.

ONLY when being agressive. Growling or hissing is okay, if they're not up in each other's face. They're going to make noises at each other, it's part of the process. You do realize that this could go on for 8-10 days or more, right?


My wife informed me today that she had our cats "chipped" at the vet visit yesterday. $150 for the pair. I am rather annoyed.

Being a animal person i can honestly tell you to let them sort it out between themselves as to where the hierarchy stands. Its like in the locker room before gym class, and the class bitch get the regular ganking to keep things in order. Life will balance itself out, dont worry yourself.
