Things that my car is NOT faster than....
So i've had my car for 3 weeks now. It's a great car so far...fast, quiet, more ninja-like than my 99. Well, i've been wanting to get into a little 'fun' with cars to see just how fast it is. But one problem, every car that has actually wanted to go has been something crazy and out of my league....
-2006 BMW M6 (500hp)
-Ferrari F430 (510hp)
-Mercedes AMG E55 (470hp)
WTF? All i get are 500hp cars that want to run....argh. I guess that idea of building a block and going for ~400rwhp isn't such a bad idea afterall lol. Seriously though, it's fun to run these cars..... in all honesty, none of the cars really straight up walked off on me. Sure they pulled (the M6... ok, it might fall under the 'stomped me' catergory), but none of them jsut took off like it was nothing.Or maybe they were ******* with me. The AMG was the closest in speed... just kinda pulled away slowly.
I also noticed when i got home tonight that i have an exhaust leak somewhere near the turbo.....argh.

i haven't had anyone try to challange me since i installed the gt2560r. it's a shame. in my daily driver miata, which looks the same but is slower than a minivan, i get people everyday in mustangs, GTOs, camaros, and the typical assorted ricers. some day it'll happen, they will pick the wrong car, just wish that day was today.

Raced the M6 up on 85s near Hamilton Mill
Played with the F430 on 85s from Jimmy Carter all the way to mid-town
Messed with the AMG on the outer loop of 285 from Roswell Rd to Chamblee-Dunwoody.
I go out "fishing" on weekend nights...it's where i drive around on the interstate in the righgt lane and wait for cars that might want to run to pass by in the left lanes. Also, i was trying to brake-boost with the AMG but never got a chance to..... it might have helped me out lol.

Yup, there is NO skill required once you're rolling at 40mph. These "runs" i got into were all "from a roll" not a dig and don;t require anything but putting your foot down on the gas. Now drag racing from a dig requires much more skill to launch the car properly... i do know this.... it's also how i used to kill a lot of cars out street racing years ago with my Miata. Dig run + 4.10 torsen = fun. Dig + one tire fire for a SRT4 Neon = not going anywhere lol.

No skill is wrong, you gotta know When to shift to maximize torque at the wheels at any given time. You have to be quick and precise with your shifts. If you are traction limited that requires skill as well to maximize the traction that you do have without wheelspin. I guess if your in an automatic camry it does most of this out of your control, but a manual trans miata with more than double it's stock hp is another story.
