Default working on honda's sucks!!!!!1

I've been out in the cold for the better part of 4 hours today, and an hour and a half yesterday re-installing the jackson racing supercharger on my brother's RSX type-s...... WHAT A PAIN IN MY ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe it's because I'm a big gorilla type with large man hands..... but I have to say that honda played a cruel joke on the US market when the wedged that motor in that car that way..... Add a blower to the mix..... and you might as well give up.....

And the damn things are delicate as hell too! tourqing down one of the intake manifold bolts resulted in a snapping sound.....and then endless spinnage. Not a broken bolt mind you..... but ALL THE THREADS IN THE HEAD GAVE WAY AT ONCE!!!!!!!!!! What the hell is that???????????? I didn't even tighten it that hard!!!!!!!!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

So we put a more coarsely threaded bolt in.... okay that worked..... but now it's running like it has a massive Vaccuum leak, which I KNOW IT SHOULDNT.... because I triple checked everything b4 startup..... So we head up to the shop that I had tune my car for some advice.... owner says it sounds like it might be a stuck IAC (idle air control), so take the throttle body off and unplug it and re-plug it to see if that was the issue.....

so we leave.... we're sided by side, and my brother can't resist getting into it.... he slams the throttle, blows by me wide open..... blowing black smoke..... and at the light we pulled up to....
the car is running fine??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? FREAKIN IAC UNSTUCK ITSELF!
Tell him to get into it because of the smoke from last time..... this time no smoke.... must have been dumping fuel because of the IAC......

in short..... honda's drive me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All my days of working on Hondas were pretty easy. I did my swap in 3 days in a 1 car garage with a floorjack and hand tools, first swap and fired on the first try. Hondas are easy.

Like legos...I swear.

But the RSX is hard to work with...easy to put together, but its just so damn tight with any FI in there.

I love hondas for the simplicity and fact you can do everything on them with a small tool set and a jack. And I mean everything.

The Rsx is an Acura not a Honda, it doesn’t matter I you put a Honda motor in it and a Honda name plate its still a Acura. Oh and the Acura MDX sucks to work on. So do jetta's, any Lexus, BMW, or Mercedes.

As said above me... its a Honda.

Acura is just a rebadging for the luxury line.

Everything in that car and on that car... is made by Honda....

working on the miata pisses me off. I don't know anything about them. Fortunatly the miata never breaks down, so you never have to learn about it.

So.. you're saying Acura isn't a luxury line created by Honda in 1986 to sell more luxury vehicles to the US?

I do agree with you about Lexus though, the RX300 has one of the worst oil filter placements ever.

I find it hard to believe that it could be any worse than the I4 Mx6. Right in the middle of the motor, up high, on the BACK. You have to reach both arms up between the crossmember and the exhaust, and you can _just_ get to it.
