They've actually been really good at doing the math and practicing so all their stunts work according to plan. However how are they going to maintain what has to be a fairly precise distance between the two ramps when one of them is floating around in the water?

i would sure hope so, at the very least have some more math involved than evil kenevil did. but still at the speeds needed to clear that jump, is he stopping in the distance necessary? did they account for possbile winds, the undulation of the suspension? i see drowning as the most likely cause. either way i'll find out tomorrow as i'm dvr'ing it as where i'm headed probably won't give 2 *****.

I had to help my friend that removes seaweed as a side job, re-anchor a floating dock this past summer. Swim out 80lb bags of concrete without getting them wet, pour them on the dock placing rebar into the mix, wait a day and launch them off the dock. We figured them to weigh close to 750lbs once we were done. Sidetrack over.....
I'll be watching later to see how he makes out.

I don't see how the course designers ever intended for him to stop without using the tire wall. His takeoff speed was 90 mph, the flat area after the ramp was only 150 ft long, and the ramp surface appeared to be painted wood or something similarly non-grippy.

The problem was he overshot his intended landing spot by nearly 20ft, and the surface was wet and slick. If it had been ideal and dry, he would have probably barely still hit the wall, but he wouldn't have been going 40-50mph, maybe 10-20mph.

It would have been more hardcore and impressive if the landing barge was actually a runway for the second ramp going back to the land, one jump after another. He stayed straight enough on landing to have pulled it off I bet. THAT would have been impressive.
