Awesome, that's going to surprise a lot of people.

Doesn't he want some triangulation for that EM?

Why would it surprise anyone? It's a drag car.

To be fair, I only read the first two pages of the 100 or however ******* many there are of kids jizzing over the pics.

The OP does seem like he knows his stuff though.

That's insane. I had to read the whole build thread, can't wait to see a vid of it.

Such a beautiful motor, in such an ugly little car.

At first I was in awe of my VR6 but as my ***** descended I realized it isnt actually that great of a motor. Heavy and tough to tune (compared to 1.8T), and also needlessly complex.

my turbo vr6 was the **** when everything worked. I wish VW was still on the menu for me because I'd have an schimmel turbo kitted-mk2vr6 GTI for a daily driver.

What makes it so hard to tune other than the extra two cylinders? Is it the variance in length of the runners? What makes it so complex?

I'm not being facetious, I don't know. I know the general layout of the "zigzag 6", but not many details.

Their head doesnt flow worth a ****. it is a strong engine though, so it takes a lot of boost easily. The same cant be said for the transmissions: they're worse than the miata 5sp

oh yeah...don't get me started. The 24v head moved a fuckton more air. The r32 motor, well, that's god-like.

Because the 1.8T is already built for boost and all you need to do is turn up the boost and/or get a bigger turbo. Messing around with the ECU isnt too much of an issue in both cases.
