Salary is really only a single aspect to illustrate the point. But even the chart shows that white women have a better thing going than black males. That we can improve the salary of women faster than blacks is pretty telling, right?

I can't claim to be an expert on why blacks are left behind (are they a cause or an effect?) but the problem is there.

Look at Gentrification for example. A generic term that's come to mean "pushing the blacks out so rich white folk can live there"

oh there's so many good racist and sexist jokes.

I guess that's part of "progress". Giving up a few things that are cool for the advancement of humanity.

Because youtube keeps deleting it...

The video is a bit garbled for the first few seconds, but it clears up quickly. And the audio is fine.

Go to the daily show website. This one is posted with several others that make the Reps look like a bunch of double talking idiots.

This was one of those stupid emails that make the rounds. Thought is was funny though...

Irish View of 2008 Election

We, in Ireland, can't figure out why people are even bothering to hold an election in the United States. On one side, you have a pants wearing lawyer, married to a lawyer who can't keep his pants on, who just lost a long and heated primary against a lawyer who goes to the wrong church, who is married to yet another lawyer who doesn't even like the country her husband wants to run.

Now....on the other side, you have anise old war hero whose name starts with the appropriate "Mcterminology", married to a good looking younger
woman who owns a beer distributorship.

What, in Lord's name, are you lads and lassies thinking over there in the Colonies?

Sounds like an easy choice to us.

I'm honestly sick and ******* tired of the media shoving that wicked witch of the West down our throats. My God, every time I turn on the damn T.V. it's Palin this and Palin that. No I don't want that dictator for VP. She isn't much different than Cheney... she actually talks. But all this **** about her throwing her power around because she "governs" a whopping 600,000 people is retarded. Hell, my goddamn county has more people then she "governs".. no ****. She is no more than the nosy neighborhood bitch that is president of the HOA. That whole GOP party is out of whack. On one hand you have an old man who talkes down to everyone who is younger then him, yet he picks a running mate who is even younger then his opponant. You have a political party that embraces "family values" and basically does everything short of preaching on stage... and also fought for things like keeping the 10 commandments in public government buildings, but has a knocked up daughter who isn't even old enough to buy a lottery ticket and cigarettes. Hell, we all know that if someone in the other party had a pregnant unwed teenager, you bet your *** the Republicans would be riding and ridiculing their asses to no end. On the other hand, you have this gun blazing, wanna-be redneck woman who women are going to vote for just because it's a "she" in the party. That's just what we DON'T need. But I think the most terrible thing is that all of these Retardicants think she is far more qualified to run the country than Obama, which we know is going to happen because McCain is simply older than Twinkies. Oh, did we all know that McCain doesn't even know how to use a computer? Literally! Yeah, that's real "in touch" with the current generation of voters. While I don't agree with EVERYTHING Obama has in mind, he and the Dems. are far more down to Earth. It'll be a cold day in Hell when a political candidate makes EVERYONE HAPPY, get over it.

I am only reminded of how much I dislike the GOP when I go to the store on Sunday and see the beer & wine asile roped off because it's "inappropriate" and against morals. **** that.

The real problem is that half of the country doesn't read the newspaper (or logical equivalent) and takes everything they see at face value. When a candidate makes a statement asserting a fact or claim about their opponent, it doesn't matter if it's true. Dumbass Americans will believe it. Even after it's refuted by every paper in the country!

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...090903727.html
Good examples on both sides. Who is tired of bullshit? Me me me me.

Why do you think Bush won again in 2004? Not because he was a good leader or did anything right. He won because people were suckers.

the fact that people are won over by statements like "the only difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull is lipstick" does not make me feel very patriotic.

Technically your voting for a presidential candidate, not his VP. While it may seem to the less intelligent that you are voting for a VP, it is only by way of voting for the Presidential candidate of your choice that you get his/her running mate "VP". So shut up about voting for a VP. On another note, I'm sorry to say most people think the president has this magical power to wave a f-ing wand around and "change" things. Pick up a political science book and read it, if you cant read it get someone to read it to you. Oh and most states outside of the bible beating south allow the sale of alcohol on Sundays, thank religion for that one, not the GOP.

You sure as hell are voting for a VP. For one, it's the first person in line if the president dies. For two, VPs tend to run following the end of an incumbent's allowed terms (or sooner if the incumbent sucks).

As for waving a wand to make change... it's not very easy to change things when the president vetoes every piece of novel legislation that comes across his desk.

My gf has a degree in poli sci from berkeley. no mention of wands in her book. oh and she's technically a registered lobbyist.

the no-booze on sunday thing is par for the course. the USA was settled by religious nutjobs outcast from the old country. thank god (God for you bible belters) virginia's ABC stores are now open sundays. weeehoooo.
