There has to be some way that we can collectively distort the term "Hyper Threading" to describe this process...

Does anyone else think that he's talking about a road course event here and not an autox? Thus proving how stupid he really is.

Could always submit it to Wikipedia and Urban Dictionary... Maybe it will take off.

I agree, not that it really would have cleared things up. I was going to post some autocross footage just for clarity.

I did send an email to the OP asking him to state his class and goals and that "we" would then be able to help him.

I don't know why I feel bad for people when their threads go awry for no fault of their own, but I do.

"Hyper is correct. Putting more power to the wheels will hurt your autocross times because having a turbo makes the car hard to control. Autocross is all about driving, not blatant power. Get your turbo buttsecks wagon outta here!"
Its called braking... but you dont have any horse power so you
wouldnt understand.

Hyper

"...tailgated by a miata..."
This proves you dont autocross. There is no tailgating anywhere.

I was really curious why Hyper kept asking this:

how long are your autocross races? 1 min run or 1 hour?
What does that mean, and how is it relevant? Is there some secret mechanism in which the the faster car over 1 minute is not also the faster car over 1 hour?

Maybe he was referring to Ferrari owners not wanting to socialize with the Miata owners in the parking lot barbecue? That's the only tailgating I could think of that makes even a lick of sense.

Did you invite him here? He would either be much better off, or much worse off, depending on the phase of the moon (and whether JP is on it at that moment).

That thread is one big facepalm. Hyper really is something else. Just goes to show you, outside the box thinking isn't always a good thing.

I was replying, wondering what autoX allows cars out so close that tailgating could occur and adding this pic when the damn thread locked.

Lmao, semi-unrelated but did anyone check out that autox link that Hyper posted? Check this out:
Final Results, #1 - ER Autocross #1 - PBIR - Sun 01-18-2009

Scroll down to "A Modified" And check out the car, made me chuckle a bit.

I PMed the guy, and he replied. Turns out he works just a couple of miles from my house. We're going to meet up so that Abe & I can let him drive our turbo cars. Might even take him for a ride at the next AutoX if I can get my damn misfire problem sorted out.

Either the owner of the car is a very honest man, or someone just pulled a fast one on him.

You guys suck, I read that thread at like 10am this morning and thought "ehh, I'll have to watch that one." Got a reported post at 12:45pm, in class, and by the time I got home it was 3 pages long and locked.
