My wifes' DD is our '06 MS6. She loves driving it. I don't think I'll ever talk her into a auto. Her first car was an MX-3, then an '02 Celica, now the MS6, all manual's. What's awesome... she can actually tell you what boost is and how the turbo works.

My fiancee has always driven stick (3 different cars) and I know she prefers it. She wants a Honda Pilot though so...

It’s all I can do to keep my GF out of my normally aspirated miata, the one with the kick *** radio. She won’t drive the turbo car, and the world is a safer place.

my gf steals my car all the time, just to boost around,
she takes her sister to the store, then i get texts from her sister saying how she wont shut up about how quick the spool time is since the 3" turbo back install

If my g/f did that I would probably hug her to death when she returned home.

I was trying to teach my g/f to drive stick. We used her brothers SVT Focus, but the shifter was too notchy for her to drive easily. I got her into my Miata and she was doing pretty well.

After a few days she said shifting was stupid and not worth it. I guess she just got tired of it. Oh well, with the 6 puck going it I won't ever have to share it.

The g/f is scared of the clutch in the miata and thinks manual transmissions are a waste of time. I tried to teach her on my truck and she did great until she backed us into the ditch and then almost into a telephone poll. That was the end of that and when it comes to driving i'm in the driver seat 90% of the time. The other 10% is her driving her own car when we're on road trips, its an automatic.

Mine can drive it fairly well...even with the XT PP and 9lb flywheel. She actually got BETTER when I put those in, because she could feel the clutch engagement. She just hates driving it though.

my girl drives stick and prefers it that way. She has never had an auto. She could give two ***** about cars though, she starts rolling her eyes 2 seconds BEFORE i ever bring anything up.

With a title like does she like to "dive on stick".... I wasn't thinking about her and a manual transmission.

not a chance. i can't even get her to learn using the argument "what if there were an emergency and the only car available to drive is a stick?".

When my wife and I went car shopping, she wanted a new corolla. I said the only way I will sign the paperwork is if she gets a stick and learns how to drive it. Shes put about 30K miles on it so far.

My girlfriend loves riding in the miata, and keeps asking to learn to drive stick. I tell her "Once you learn you can drive it, but you won't learn on my car". Then I make her make me a sandwich and do the laundry.

My wife has always driven a manual except for the past few vehicles that have been SUV's. Her current ride is an automatic Trailblazer SS, but the 395 hp/400 ft-lbs LS2 makes up for it. She has also autocrossed as long as I have and is the current SCCA E-Stock Ladies National Champion!

my wife learned how to drive a on turbo 5-spd mazda. when she wanted a prelude she couldn't find a 5-sp for sale so settled on the auto, when it craps the bucket she wants another prelude with a 5-sp.

Sadly no. Come to think of it, I don't think any girl that I've dated could...

Samnavy,

You by any chance on the mazdas247 forum?
