I haz a new OTM
Drove 8 hours round trip yesterday and got my first new car, a 2010 Jetta SportWagen TDi! Unlike my other OTM (05 Neon SRT4) it's comfortable on the highway and gets stellar mileage. It's white outside with "cornsilk" (light tan) and black interior. Ought to stay cooler than black-on-black in the summer heat.
First project is to remove the tacky pinstripe down both sides.

Any reason you went with the wagon over any of the other TDi models? Looks good, but I'm not much of a wagon fan. For sure DO remove that pin stripe. I think with some wheels and a 1'' drop it would look pretty killer. Not sure if you plan to do anything on the suspension to your daily driver wagon though. (I would).
I do like the styling of the newer models more than any of the last 10-15 years though. I want a blue Scirocco!!! Can see some of that Audi styling sticking out.
I'll quit shitting up your thread with pictures now.

Thanks all, and thanks for the votes of confidence, John and Splitime...lol.
I got a wagon because we're about to have another daughter, and the wagon more easily hauls two strollers and other related cargo. It's already come very much in handy; the wife brought home 4 large boxes from the post office today (essentials we shipped to ourselves) and is bringing home a table and 4 chairs as we speak. All the while getting better mileage than most economy cars.
As for the unreliability, we'll see. I'm not going to jinx it, but my brother-in-law (the same one who I've loaned the Miata to when I've gone to Kuwait and California and other foreign countries) is an experienced VW tech. I know, he's not here with me and I can't just tote him along with me, but he's diagnosed several things over the phone and been dead-on each time.

To answer some of the other posts:
Thanks, it's cold now but I'm planning ahead for when it's hotter. I would have loved black...except in the summer, lol.
Thanks, I like the facelift the 2010s got.
The hairdryer came in the boxes we got today, w00t! The pinstripe is doomed. If anything, for suspension, it would have to be VERY mild.
Thanks, it's easy to find 'em when they're new, lol. I got it through USAA so the price was good.
