You know what would have been great?
Just after Neil got done with the whole "One small step for man" line, he should have looked up, screamed, run out of the camera's frame of view, and had Aldrin come bounding after him wearing a monster costume, knocking over the camera on the way down.

I might be buying this tomorrow:
Its an imported Romanian ARO 11.4 4x4 SUV, 1992-99 vintage and is brand new. For import reasons it has no drive train and never has. Notice the plastic still on the seats? Thinking maybe a 4.3 vortec and 700r4, much as I hate automatics it would make a bitchin daily driver.

No. lol.
It does have a VIN and will come with a bill of sale. Its my understanding since it isn't currently considered a vehicle, you need a rcpt for driveline parts and state inspection then a title will be issued. Honestly, for $500.00 I'm not too concerned about that.

I bet all the grey import skyline owners wish it were that easy... then again, you're in Kansas - do they care? Maybe you can register it as a kit car/suv? It looks cool and a big v8 will do nicely!

My first idea was to put a 4.3 in it but the more I think about it that'll likely change. About to head out and check it out in person, will take a few of my own pl0x to post here. Depending on the ground clearance as it sits and width of frame rails, it might just end up with an LQ9 or similar 6 liter.
Oh my god, a turbo inline 6 that makes tons of power. Never seen one of those in the states before.
They're neat cars and all, but sorry.. Not even remotely worth what they cost.
Saw this in a movie theater parking lot in 2009.
This is the only skyline I really want:

I didn't really take any pictures of the ARO as I saw nothing the above photos didn't really cover.
Has the original Romanian tires branded "Montana" which made me laugh. The truck was designed for a very small and under powered engine which shows when looking at the differential sizes -- Both Smaller than a miata rear. Frame rail inside measured 22.5" across, however the firewall to core support measurement absolutely would not support anything larger than a v6 at the absolute most.
Paint is completely shot, no visible rust anywhere, interior still has all the plastic on the seats and carpet . Needs engine, trans, front and rear axles with brakes, and gauge cluster. Hood and spoiler are plastic while the rest is steel. Undercarriage is spotless of any grease, oil, or grime.
If I can find a crashed up S10 blazer with a 4.3 I'm home free.
And a picture, for the picture thread:
