Looks like this afternoon in San Diego. I don't have any pretty pictures, but we got some absolutely torrential rain here. I mean, this was Florida-in-summertime rain, and in an area where we're not used to getting wet naturally without a surfboard being involved.
The roads are absolute chaos.

See, before this fad, you would really have to get within maybe a few feet of someone to find out they were nothing more than a hopeless ******** whose contribution to society would be on par with a local used furniture commercial on cable access.
Now, though, you can spot them a mile away, and either hit the ignore button on your dash, or take appropriate evasive action.
My request from the creators of this fad would be to include blinking lights into this setup somehow, so we can play spot the ******** in dense traffic where the bottom half of the car may not be visible at all times.

Early February 2010 when I was in San Diego was the same situation. I was going to brunch at the Tractor Room and it started raining. And then there was water above the curbs. I had to park and exit on the passenger side to not get my ankles wet. Crossing the street was exceptionally hard because the water extended about 10 feet from the curb into the street. it sucked.

It does rain here on occasion, we're just not well equipped to deal with the really heavy stuff. The topology naturally forms lots of little valleys, and drainage is extremely poor, so the water just accumulates. An inch of rain here has about the same effect as a foot of snow would have in Miami.
