Default Restaurant/Bar suggestions for Boston?

Going to be up there next week for training out in Burlington, but I'm sure I'll make it down into the city a few days.

I'm a beer snob, so some place I could grab a few that I can't get back here in the buckle of the bible belt would be nice.

I was going to suggest the Woodward at Ames, but apparently it's closed.

Consider the following:

Mr. Dooley's for a pub atmosphere
Biddy Early's for "hole-in-the-wall" bar atmosphere
Jim Curley for a higher end bar experience; not cheap
Tip Tap Room for the beer snob in your party

That should get you started. I have no idea where they are in relation to where you will be, so use the internet to figure that out.

I remember seeing this place called Cheers on TV for about, dunno...20 years.
Might wanna go see if the barkeep wears a toupee.

I'm probably posting too late, but I highly recommend Cantina Italiana in the North End. Avoid all of the tourist traps in Quincy Market / Faneuil Hall, plus the aforementioned Cheers bar (it's called the Bull & Finch, located in Beacon Hill). Mr. Bartley's is a classic burger joint in Harvard Square. Also, pretty much any dive bar in Allston is a good place, especially the ones around the Comm Ave / Harvard Ave. intersection ... and of course the bars by Fenway Park. One of them has seats from which you can sit UNDER the Green Monster wall and see into the outfield.

Hey so have you heard of Samuel Adams? I hear it's a really great craft brewery they have up there.

Yeah, I got back last night. Didn't end up going into to town like I thought I would.

95 through Burlington is a constant mess and I didn't feel like 45+ min drives each way to go eat dinner.

I did go out one night with a buddy who lives in Cambridge, was able to get sufficiently wasted at Lord Hobo and some other place, then proceed to miss my flight out of Boston and rebooked for a later one.
