San Francisco trying to ban pet sales.

Puppy mills are disguising and I think morally wrong. I have no sympathy for them. That being said, I don't see why I have a right to demand to take away their livelihood and ability to feed and clothe their children. My dogs come from the animal shelter or local humane society. They've all been wonderful. I don't care for puppy mills, so I vote with my wallet. That's my right, and some people disagree with me and pay breeders. God bless the USA.
Anyway, this seems pretty transparent. It's not about helping conditions at breeders. It's about lessening the overhead at their animal shelters. I have a hard time with the thought that LA enacted something based on morality. CA is in a deep hole.

it's like this: if you put something less than healthy for you in your body, it's sub optimal. I'm thinking it's not so much a concern as a calculated risk for me. I still enjoy mcdonalds cheeseburgers and fries when the moment strikes, but I don't eat them without thinking about consequences.

The real aim of this seems to be keeping the sales inside the state so they can tax them . And to make silly hippies feel warm and fuzzy on the inside

I was being facetious and bringing up the point that the SF idiots, are just that, if they think there is really any difference between "local breeders" and so called puppy mills. There are plenty of puppy mills locally and there are plenty of responsible mom and pop breeders out of state.

Yep, this state sucks. Its not the people, its the retarded government/law makers, at that state, county, and city levels. Its not the most expensive state to live in because its awesome california, its the most expensive state to live in because the government needs to tax up the wazzu to support all of its pork and excessive spending. Not just to individuals, but on businesses as well. Beyond the actual income/payroll taxes, the laundry list of local taxes, permit fees, zoning laws, environmental compliance policies (and fines for violating), etc are all mind boggling.
I wish I cold leave. I'd go to texas like everyone else

Kinda like you cant spend 70% of your annual budget ($105 million dollars) on a fancy school and expect to operate it when it's completed?

Also, CA has increased in size!

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — In a sign of just how deep economic and budget problems have grown in the nation's largest state, a gleaming new high school built at a cost of $105 million will sit unused for at least a year because education officials say they don't have money to operate it.

About as good as obama-care
Oh trust me, I hate the proposition system with a passion. It's communism on a smaller basis. And just like communism, its great in theory, terrible in practice. Sweet, an easy way for interest/lobby groups to use liberal lemmings as pawns in their quest for more gob'ment monies and pet projects. All they need to do is bank roll the campaign, come up with some BS to feed the sheep, and bam, monies in the bank! Yeah all these sweet propositions look great on paper, even if there is no money to fund them
