can he get "malcontent" under his username instead of "supporting member"?
btw, I looked all over and found nothing labeled "terms of service" or that said anything about blocking ads.

I wonder how the sponsoring companies feel about their sponsorship being diluted with the google ads? Especially when the google ads are chasing away members (and customer base). They could be loosing money because the owner is getting more $$$ in his pocket. Neat.
Are there popup ads on m.net? I've used a pop up blocker for so long I never would have noticed if they had. The banners I don't give two ***** about.

10% Bwahahhahhahahahahahaha. Ahem, no.
Interesting thing to do is look at the posts made by Gary, I'd say almost 1/4 of them are closing threads. Tyranny at it's best.
The thing that pisses me off about miata.net is that if one were to critisize a sponsor's service or their product immediately you'd be jumped on by the mods, the owner or the wanna-be miata.net fanboys. How is that a service to the Miata community? How about tell the truth good and bad, and let people decide if the sponsoring products are worthy.
There were posts by Robino (or something to that effect) complaining about Racing Mazda and being ripped off because he ordered a motor and didn't get the parts he spec'd. Gary closes the thread with: "Recommendation to robino: Do business with our loyal sponsors." Puh-lease. Loyalty to Miata.net has anything to do with producing good products? Having good service? It's simply being a *****, and there isn't anything wrong with that but they shouldn't pretend to be anything but.
Reading miata.net is like reading unbiased reviews in Car and Driver, unbiased against advertisers.

Lol you guys make it seems like Gary is hitler and his mods are the secret service. Ya it does appear that Gary is trying to take a bigger cut than he should, however the only thing that really really bugs me is that the classifieds are charged. Otherwise I could care less if the guy makes lots of money from his advertising that imho isnt really in the way at all. Oh ya, the donations are crap too but if people want to pay, then thats their thing.
Further miata.net probably does cost a lot to operate:
Threads: 198,714, Posts: 2,083,755, Members: 34,212 and many of those posts are recent judging by how many posts the na forum gets each day. It is the most active forum I have ever seen.
It is also very involved and probably takes a good chunk of his time and as a result, Gary should be paid accordingly.
As for the censorship, ya its a bit overboard but theres a lot of older peeps there and the chance of turning them away with lack of censorship is higher than turning youth away with overcensorship. The balance seems a bit off though.
I just like to be the devils advocate. Im sure gary is a bit of an *******, but if you dont like him or his forum, dont go there. I go there once in a while myself because there is quite a bit of good info if you dig reallly deep, but mostly i come here now as you may be able to tell by my recent number of posts
