I listed a set of GM Performance shocks for a Cadillac CTS-V on ebay and had a guy interested in the part numbers. After some back and forth he clarified for me which set they were, and that they were not the set he was looking for.

I only had the GM part # and description off the box. I used that to get the info I had when I listed them, but like with some of our miata parts, their "code" name was FG2 shocks.

I mentioned to him about maybe giving me a shout out on the Cadillac forums and he wrote back saying that he already did. I searched and found the thread and there's already a guy saying "thanks for the heads up" and that he wants them.

Forums and good people are such a great way to advertise. I didnt want to join the forum myself and say "hey guys, here's my 1st post, BTW I have ***** for sale" only to give myself a bad rep there. Thankfully there's good people out there willing to lend a hand and share info. I'm happy to be a part of this wonderful ******* community myself, probably because out of all the forums I've lurked, this one is the best overall. But then again.....I might be biased. lol

Its going better now that I'm a little more organized. I'm still learning the best process to prep/list/ship items without overwhelming myself in the meantime. lol

I've sold maybe 2 dozen parts/tools for them so far, which isn't much by any means. I took a lot of time going through the parts and taking pictures, only to then bombard myself with 40 sheets of paper with part numbers all over the ******* place!

By far, the hardest part of this whole thing is finding information on these part numbers. Some of them are no brainers, while other ones are impossible. Thankfully one of the members here has helped me out with a list of part numbers to get me the info I needed.

I still have a **** TON more to list, but I've been taking it a day at a time. I just started working with another client 2 days ago. He's a local truck shop that's been in business for who knows how long, and.....he's a hoarder. He's got probably close to 100 carburetors on this one work bench, maybe 50 motors, transmissions, etc etc. He also has a collection of 4x4 blazers outside. I think I counted 18 of them. lol

The first item I listed for him was a 351 Cleveland motor. Its on ebay right now and is getting a ******* ton of views. I'm hoping I can get him double what he wants for it to show him how great the internet is. **** local newspaper ads and "tag sales". So far this business is taking off rather well, I'm just not making what I'd like to be right now, but I've been told it takes a while and to keep my head up.

Welcome to the club. I work at a GM dealership over here but im in the shop. Parts is impossible i try to look it up sometimes when the guys are busy i want to kill myself. It does take a while to get used to the GM system.

Part of the reason this place is great is cause the mods let us curb stomp stupid ******* noobs. We weed out the bad ones, and only the decent ones remain, and learn as well as contribute and shortly become great members of a badass community.

vash, by any chance would you have a ht6 a/c compressor for sale with pricing competetive with the chinese?

He's got a half dozen A/C compressors in the stock room so he might by chance have one. Do you have any parts numbers I could reference it by? The last 2 I sold for retailed online for $450ish and I sold both for around $200 each.

Small world on these forums I swear. A member that used to be on here for quite some time found my auction through the Cadillac forum and recognized my ebay username that matches this one on here. If anyone remembers, it was Soflarick. He said he parted out the miata and got a CTS-V, and here I am, selling performance shocks for it. lol

He said he's also a member on LS1tech, so hopefully if I come across some more Cadillac / Corvette related parts they can get some more exposure. I don't want to join up on these forums myself and start pushing out parts. I know how aggravating it is when someone does it here, so I try to maintain the same type of etiquette for other forums.

The GM dealership has a bunch of random OEM stuff, and some NOS sitting around, but I cant say for certain what it goes to just yet. I still need to check part numbers and go through some more boxes/shelves.

The truck shop I just started working with on the other hand has TONS of truck parts. This guy has more parts in his shop than he has workspace! Not to mention, he's a Chevy guy too.

Anything specific you're looking for?
