Owned.. by pot hole
So I was driving home Sunday night, doing the speed limit, and WHAM, I hit a BAD pot hole. Bad enough to mess up my alignment, but I said eh **** it, too cold to look for damage so I went inside when I got home and forgot about it until today when I pulled my car into the shop to wash the snow off and I saw that 3 of my wheels are now bent (Stockers). Luckily none of them are leaking, one was bad enough that I am really really surprised that it isn't leaking.
Anyways a co-worker of mine said that he has seen a few of our customers bring their cars in for pot hole damage, needing the repair order so that they could show the city, and that some of them actually got reimbursed by the city. Think its worth sending a letter? I don't even know who to send the letter to..

i hit a pothole a couple years ago. kinda funny actually. there was someone that hit the same pothole no more than 2 min in front of me and it ripped out the entire front axle. all that happened to me was that it put a huge hole in the tire (rim was fine)... anyway.... i called the jersey DOT and got the paperwork to get reimbursed. that did nothing. i got a letter back from them like 6 months later saying they werent going to pay me for it cause the pothole was not reported. it looked like they would only pay for damage if the pothole was reported and it was on a list to be fixed. i did get a police report for it too just in case but that did no good.
GOOD LUCK.

I had the same thing happen to me.. only worse. They did road construction and did not put a "bump" sign on this one road. I hit one of those areas where the pavement abruptly goes straight up going about 45 (speed limit) w/ my GSX and destroyed FOUR rims and brand new tires. I wrote an appeal letter to VDOT and they found me at fault. The world is not fair.

The last time I hit one of those steel plates was when I was changing lanes to avoid one. Pulled over, and it appeared out from under the suv in front - BAM! The hit was so hard that it snapped the plastic ball joint on my driver side headlight and sent the assembly bouncing up and down - shattering cracking the light.

I had a friend who got MODOT to replace a couple wheels on his car.
Honestly the way I see it, we pay taxes when buying ******* gasoline for them to repair and build new roads.. Its their fault they're in such shitty condition, why should I have to pay for damage to my FACTORY wheels/tires because they can't build ******* roads??
