Default Animated GIFs

Does anyone here roll their own? If so, how do you do it and what do you use? I'd love to find some software that will turn a video clip into a GIF.

You're supposed to be able to do it with flash but for some reason I can't ever get it to work :(

You can do it with Photoshop.

:edit:

Go windows, and then select animation. It loads a smallish tool bar at the bottom of your screen. Then you create a series of layers using that toolbar to create your gif.

Yup. I didn't start out to make gifs of her, that was more a trial run since the things I have in avi format are mostly from my digicam. Youtube videos downloaded with downloadhelper save a flvs, and imageready doesn't recognize them.. once I figure out what to do about that, I'll be set.

Here's another. Why the **** doesn't imageready recognize wmv???????????????????? My Top Gear collection is USELESS.
