Firefox / Adobe Flash help needed
I use a portable version of Firefox on an 8 GB USB flash drive at work because I don't like using the company's IE (they spy on us). Even though they can still see what I am doing in Firefox I still want to use my own stuff (especially since IE sucks). Anyway, I cannot use youtube.com because I don't have Adobe installed on the stick. Whenever I go to youtube at work it will prompt me to install Adobe. They have the computers pretty much locked down here so you cannot install any software. If I take my USB stick home and log on to youtube with it everything works fine (I guess Firefox grabs the Adobe plug-in I have on my laptop).
So, my question is, how do manually install the Adobe plug-in on the portable copy of firefox on the flash drive (while I am at home). I'm sure it is something simple but I just cannot figure out how to do it. Thanks!

You need to find where Adobe installs the Flash plugin files and copy them over to the flash drive. It will be hard to do for sure. I think you are better off getting Chrome or Safari installed on that flash drive and use YouTube's HTML 5 video player instead - no plugins necessary.

OK, using Chrome once again. It took me 5 minutes to figure out how to set the homepage (had to type the path, couldn't just click on "use current page"). Went to youtube and it worked fine. Checking my mail (two different addresses in gmail) isn't as smooth but I will try to find a work around for it). Anyway, thanks for the push to try Chrome again. This should be interesting.

Chrome is awesome. Just force yourself to use it and you will learn to love it. I mean, I was one of the first 500 people to beta-test Firefox back in a day and I use it to this day but Chrome is so much better...

If you still want flash for FF this may help:
http://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable
Scroll down to Installing Plugins (Flash, Shockwave, etc.)
Or, alternately, this might work:
1. Copy these two files: flashplayer.xpt and NPSWF32.dll from the default install directory (usually c:\Windows\system32\Macromedia\Flash\)
2. Paste them in the following folder in your portable installation of Firefox \App\firefox\plugins\
3. Restart Firefox and check out a page with Flash content on it.

The network finally came online at work so I am playing with it a bit. I see that to go back 10 pages in history I have to hit the back button 10x while on FF I can use a drop down menu. Am I missing a trick somewhere?
BTW, the problem I had with gmail was also drop down box related. I can use a drop down to get to my two different accounts with FF. With GC I have to type the first letter then use autofill. It doesn't seem like much of a problem, just an annoyance.
I do VERY much like the fact that I did not lose the auto spell checker function.
