I have an oozy open diff in there, but yeah, that's me, out on bail (

I was coming down from a friend's house up in Los Altos Hills, and we rolled by a Sheriff's officer sitting at the intersection before the entrance to 280 South. I rolled by at the speed limit (30) in 4th, with my friend in his heavily modified E30 M3 (2.5 liter S14, etc) in tow. As soon as I rounded the corner onto the onramp, I clicked into 3rd and dispatched 3rd, rounded the corner onto the ramp parallel to the highway, ran off most of 4th up to about 80 or so, and clicked into 6th and lifted. I slowed pretty quickly to about 70 to let my friend keep up, since he can't usually.
So after I'm about a mile up, I get a phone call from said friend.
F: "Dude, the Sheriff is after you."
A: "Hmm. Why?"
F: "I don't know but he's after you."
A: "But he didn't see me do anything."
Sure enough, 30 seconds later, the same Sheriff's Durango is on my ***. He trails me for about a mile, so I know he doesn't have a damn thing on me, but he was so close I couldn't see the roof through the rollbar/hardtop. He finally hits the lights, I pull over immediately, both windows down, keys on the gauge hood (in between the wideband gauge and boost gauge), hands on the wheel. He saunters up, asks for the license, I explain that I have to unclip the harnesses to get to it, and since I have 2 tires in the passenger seat I'll need to shuffle them to get the registration and insurance out of the glovebox.
So I get it all out, he takes it, runs my tag, and then tells me I have a license plate light out.
I seem to be going through them every couple of months, so I need to figure out why (I knew one was out, didn't know the other had gone). He then asks me why my car had been towed by San Luis Obispo PD. 
I explain that I got towed illegally out of my apartment from a marked spot with a permit, and he nodded his head and asked:
O: "So it wasn't for racing or anything?'
A: "Oh, gosh, no, Officer."
He takes my insurance for 90 seconds back to his cruiser to check it all out, hands them back, and says "Get that fixed."

My last run in with the police was something pretty silly....
Was with friend in his S/C 94 and we were going somewhere from his apt. Decided to have some fun and drive up Renner road where right before 87th street they've installed some lovely traffic circles. Figured they'd do that to stop us from racing cars and bikes there. 2 wide lanes with a nice radius.
The ground wasn't wet like it rained, just really humid so it was slightly damp which makes for a lot of fun. Made about 4 laps around the last traffic circle basically in a driftomatic slide.. Decided that was about enough and drove up to the intersection of 87th street which was approx 2 blocks distance from the traffic circle we were going around. Stopped at the light and proceeded to take a right turn where he punched it WOT. Blew through first, second, third gear.. When he shifted into third the car made a drastic turn in to the curb -- He was rolling smoke off the tired through all the gears, but stopped when he clutched for third, the jerk from selecting third sent it in for the curb. He lifted, corrected, and went back to WOT. Traveled 3 blocks doing that under the bridge for the highway, then around the corner and back into WOT. At the end of the ramp there was a Lenexa copper with lights and sirens blasting on his way after us.
Pulled over and shut it down. Cop comes up to the car and protests he stopped us because we "lost control of our vehicle." Of course, thats what they claim and my friend protested he absolutely never once was out of control of his car -- Infact every time the officer mentioned "loss of control" Andy interrupted the officer to state he was in perfect control, had he been out of control we would've hit the curb in the median. The reason he stated to the officer the roads were really damp, he accelerated a little too much then lifted, corrected and proceeded to continue acceleration. Officer took his license and went back to his car.. Heres another "wreckless driving" ticket...
When he returned the officer stated he didn't believe our story: "I don't believe your story due to the fact that I heard your car long long LOOONG before I ever saw it... Try and keep it under control next time." handed his license back and left. I mean, it was true. the reason the car jerked "out of control" was because of the damp roads.. we just didn't specify he was in third gear..

I've been pulled over probably half a dozen times or so in the past ten years. One was a felony-style stop at 2am in the middle Arcadia, FL. On each and every occasion I was polite and courteous, didn't interrupt the officers while speaking, etc etc., and only one of those stops resulted in a ticket. That was in Buffalo, NY, for "improper lane change." The windows on my rental car froze up quite suddenly, and I literally ran an officer off the road while trying to open the driver's side door so I could see out.

LOL. i got pulled for that once, actually. construction n the road and we were inching along at like... 5 - 10 mph. i slalomed through a few of the cones (we were down to 1 lane of 3, and there were at least 1/4mi of cones ahead of me with empty two lanes). well, apparently a cop was after that 1/4my of open space, and when i got to him he pointed at me to pull over.
he was actually laughing his *** off when he walked up and just said, "what the hell do you think you're doing?"
i had no good response and just apologized citing boredom, so he told me to knock it off. :-)
