I imagine given that the company gave him a list of approved cars that they pay for a lease or give a monthly stipent for the car. That is how it usually works. The district manager's for my old company had a car that was leased by the company for them.

I have opted to answer your quote with two separate, but in the context of my reply, related pictures:

Fair enough. For some reason my first thought was some kind of low-level travelling sales job where they made you buy your own car and drive it a million miles a year or something.

Well you could get the Kia Optima with the turbo engine. 275hp and and automatic
they look ok, but have never driven one. I think they are about 24-25K

I think the most logical thing to do given your criteria is to get an IS-F.

Touched 150mph again a few times last night. I woke up this morning and thought holy shiit i need to slow down.

I don't know that Chip (can I call you Chip for short since I like to pronounce usernames phonetically?) would be as happy with an Optima. It's a great appliance car for the money for my wife and has lots of bells and whistles like air-conditioned front seats, but it has a zero "fun to drive quotient." We did test drive the turbo and the non-turbo and decided she could use the sat nav system more than the extra HP and TQ of the turbo engine (either upgrade was about $2.0 - 2.5k as I recall).

We did not test drive the sport package (SE?) version but those were creeping up on $30k with options.

Chpmnsws6 = Chapman's WS6

I need to go test drive the Optima. It is another option, though I love hatches and wagons.

I almost missed these comments earlier. This was one area we struggled with before choosing the Optima for the missus. How can you compare 4-year (or 2-year ) rates of depreciation on a car that was introduced in 2011?

I am not sure how instructive it is to compare a 2011+ Sonata to a 2009 Sonata because they are such massive redesigns. It may hold relevant, but I wasn't so sure.

Dude this thread is sucking.

For $25K you could buy so much awesome spiffy shiit.

My vote is C5 with hptuners and set that shiz up for happy highway 35mpg.

Had that. Did 34mpg actually. 33 with the built engine and camshaft on a nice lean tune. Not modding, and can't be old. If I wanted older, we'd just keep the GS and I'd fix it.

If I were buying sport again, it'd be the LS swapped M3 in the pictures thread or a swapped FD.

Then go buy a brand new C30, or at the very least test drive one.

I have a friend who was shopping for a car from this category - he drove a Focus, a GTI, a C30, and a few other things, and he said the C30 was head and shoulders above everything else.

I honestly think the c30 has one of the best looking front ends out there right now. If I decide I don't want a 4-dr for a DD, that will be high on my list.

I don't understand your guys' obsession with volvo on this forum.

No really, I don't think any other non-volvo site I frequent has so many volvo lovers.

Whats so cool about them? (srs question)

it looks cool and is well built?

I only care about the v70r, s60r, and s40r.

that's like saying I like the supra TT and old *** AWD turbo celicas, and then you saying I'm obsessed with toyotas.

I absolutely hate vovlo interiors. they are comfortable as hell, but too "modern design" for my personal tastes. I hate the stupid extension radio panel thing...waste of space.

I have no idea how and why some of you want to daily drive a small car. Get at least a mid-size; some place to stretch out and allow the possibility of fitting more than 2 people into it comfortably.

Myself personally, I can't stand my 3. Small, uncomfortable, noisy. The only reason I got it was because it was cheap. Next couple of months i'm getting myself into a full size.

I can never see myself getting a full size.

I DD a 2000 altima and I've maybe used the rear seats for passengers maybe 2-3 times in the last 7 years? One of those times included Hustler.

I'd prefer a smaller 2-dr car, but my wife already drives a prelude and we'll probably replace it with a g37x coupe or accord v6 coupe or geneis coupe or alike. So I don't want another small car in the stable. I grew up driving vans and station wagons and love a hatch and know how pracitcal they can be, so I'm looking at the MS3, WRX, and Focus ST. I'm pretty sure I'll end up with a Focus ST very shortly.

All the cars mentioned in your post are basically small cars.

I don't consider myself a taxi cab either but the ride, space and refinement of a full size is undeniable. Ill lug around an extra 10 inches of wheel base, extra 2 seats and worse gas mileage for that.

I know. I still want a somewhat practical car that's small and fun to drive.

otherwise I'd rock a tarus sho or 540i or something.
