If any of you have trouble concealing a handgun, and haven't tried a J-frame snub on Barami Hip-Grips, you owe it to yourself to do so. Won't work if you have to have your shirt tucked in, but other than that, it's easily the most concealable option I've tried (and that includes a P3AT in the front pocket).

I didn't like the Baramis, felt mad awkward and my Hogues/old Pachs do the same thing. I typically wear a belt so it's no problem to just tuck my strap in my pants and tighten up, plus it's less bullshit to fiddle with when I need to clap.

Oh, and I'll second the J frame. My 60-3 is easily one of the most concealable pistols ever.

That would seem to rule out rmcelwee and I. For example, I might wear lightweight dress slacks, an undershirt, a lightweight long-sleeve dress shirt and a 1" wide belt. All sized European extra-medium.

Even an LCP or J-frame in a Crossbreed Supertuck would print in that attire (below the belt line as opposed to above it).

So I take it not many people are a fan of ankle carry with a smaller gun? I've had a knife in an ankle holster for probably...6 months now? Wear it everyday, everywhere; home, work, grocery shopping, driving, frisbee golf, etc. I never thought I could get used to it but it was surprisingly easy. Makes me think as a last resort/deep concealment option I could easily tuck a small revolver down there. It would be especially hidden if I work my motorcycle boots rather than sneakers.

Don't wear a solid colored shirt. Use corporate camouflage when available. Patterned/stiped/printed/textured material shirts are camouflage. We're talking about highlights and shadows around the sidearm being the enemy. Brighter/stronger colors are better than of pale blue or white.

And don't keep such a tight tuck on your shirt. Allow a slight bit of bagging to the tuck so it doesn't pull so tightly to your torso. And buy shirts that have larger torsos than your natural waist so they bag slightly above the belt. It is a lifestyle compromise.

And you can keep your phone on a belt clip right next to where your carry weapon is hiding underneath (instead of pocket dialing me all the ******* time like all you dumbasses with touchphones keep doing). Eyes see and dismiss the higher contrast of the belt clipped phone and look no further.

And J-frame FTW because of their shape. Get it in ultralight alloy or titanium for the best carrry.

I have mixed feelings over the lightweight Smiths. Do you really see that much of an advantage over a stainless model? I forget my stainless 60-3 is even there most of the time.

My J is a 38-2 Airweight Bodyguard. Haven't compared weight with a stainless model but I like how light it is.

Glock 35 is quite large at 8" by 5.4" by 1.18" and 24.5 oz. (36 oz. loaded )


I'm not as stout a fellow as you. I prefer a .38 Spl +P titanium revolver that weighs 13.5 oz. (17 oz. loaded) and is 6" by 4.5" by 1.2" (1.2" at the cylinder but narrower elsewhere). I find it much easier in light clothing. I hope I never have to use it.

I like holsters like this but with a clip on one side.



Needs to keep the gun from chafing the skin, needs to protect trigger from snags, and needs to not be thick.



It took several purchases to end up with the best carry gun for me. It also took a shitload of wasted money on holsters before finding the right one to live with everyday. Unfortunately you can't try it until you buy it.

In MO, any business can display an 11x14 sign and forbid you from carrying in their store. It's quite common to see them too, kinda defeats the purpose of being able to carry if you gotta leave it in your car everywhere. Never mind that my employer forbids guns on the entire campus. Haven't worked a job since the law was passed that would allow me to carry into the office and a couple of them were in very sketchy parts of town.

Can I wear a Sparkle fanny pack even if I don't carry?

sixshooter - Assuming I were to carry everyday, I would not be prepared to compromise my GQ-good looks to accomodate it. Patterned shirts? A "bloused" tuck? A cell phone holster? Pshaw.

Also, re-read the sentence I wrote that you quoted (making note of the parenthetical portion). It would not be the portion of the gun/holster combo printing through my shirt, but rather the portion printing through my slacks.

And don't bother suggesting that I wear slacks that don't compliment my *** just so I can conceal an IWB rig.

Oh, gawd yes! It won't drag your pants down as much or if you have it in your pocket it won't bang around as much when you walk and definitely won't cause the right side of your shorts to sag like you've got 12 rolls of quarters in it. I've had a stainless revolver as well and it just wouldn't go anywhere as easily. This was especially true in summer clothes. I've seen the aluminum alloy Taurus ultralights (painted black) for $299 here locally.

So they think you are sporting a Woodrow, so what? I do it all the time. And I carry my gun in my pocket too, lol.

So, so vain. Wear front pleated slacks and Khakis like a boss. Much more freeballin space when it is hot out anyway.

No, no, no. I am talking about carrying a Ruger LCP in a Crossbreed Supertuck IWB holster, positioned at the right side of the back - aft of the hip. I don't know the tactical term for that position.

When carrying like that, wearing professional business attire (a properly fitting long-sleeve dress shirt with an undershirt, a tie, properly fitting slacks, a thin dress belt, etc) - the portion of the holster and pistol combination would print in the area of the slacks between the belt and the top of the back pocket.

I am starting to think you are being obtuse just so I will take a picture of my *** to show you what I am talking about.

Front pleats and khakis? Front pleats?!
