Because I think she's going to be a better shot than I am.
Her 2nd time at the range ever, and first time with these weapons.
The slightly high and left are Kel Tec PF9 and the ones that are right and low right are all Glock 22. On her previous target, she (intentionally) fired a 5 shot extremely symmetrical smiley face into the head, before I asked her to keep to body shots. With only 2 rounds left in the Glock, she asked if she could go for the head again. I nodded yes. The first was the miss to the right. The 2nd and final shot of the day for her was that head shot. She has agreed to return the the range once per month with me.

I've never seen a chick that couldn't shoot better than a guy with an equal amount of experience...not sure what it is, it's kinda like how they have better reaction time drag racing naturally. My mom picked up my dad's old 1911 and shot a 9 shot group you could cover with a quarter from 15 yards away the first time she ever shot (20ish years ago.)

Most girls are really muzzle shy though, as soon as they get over that they're typicaly pretty good shots.

You probably shouldn't mess with me either. First target pic'd is the very first time I shot the G22. The other 2 are Kel Tec, and this is the 2nd time I've fired it. 7" targets at 25'. The 10 circle is the size of a penny.

I haven't owned a gun in 25 years since I quit hunting, and have never owned a handgun. Nothing against hunting, I just decided I was tired of getting up at 4:00AM every weekend in the fall.

Reading the handgun thread here and the one on m-net have got me seriously considering doing some target shooting this fall/winter and possibly buying one. It would be a great indoor activity during the winter.

I don't profess to be a marksman or anything, but don't you think what you do on the rifle range is a little apples:ranges?

I had not been to the range in several years prior to last month. Been two times in as many months since.

i own a chinese bb gun. i can shoot a beer can from about 25' away when im drunk. do i count as a good shot?

anyways... i used to manage a range (read: practice any time i feel like plus take care of guns etc) which was in basement of my school back in russia. and i was 14 years of age back then

I'm so sick of shooting. NCAA rifle team and 4 years in highschool leads to 3 hrs 4-5 days a week for the past 8 years of 3P smallbore and Internaional air rifle competition/practicing. I pretty much don't shoot anymore. I'm now done with it, gonna be a while before I get back into it.

I always wanted to do target pistol, there is far less gear involved in pistol them rifle.

I'd have to agree. Women almost always shoot better than men.

I am not real muzzle shy, but when I shot the ex's M-16, I was a little worried. But it was very cool. It did not recoil like I thought it would, plus who wouldn't like fully auto.

May be something along those lines, seems like the majority of females have better stability though when they're sighting out their shots.

If she is right handed tell her to work on feeling the trigger break. The shots being to the right means she has her finger position on the trigger incorrect (move the contact point closer to the tip of the finger) and the being low means she is jerky the trigger instead of pulling it and letting it break.

Just a general rule of thumb I have to re-evaluate myself every time I go the the range because I haven't been going often enough. My grip changes just enough to **** me up each time.

My Ranger buddy showed me my improper trigger finger position after a few shots Saturday, which was explaining why all my PF9 shots were to the right. Single stack frames are small.

She was jerking the trigger a little on the PF9 until I showed her how to pull the trigger smoothly while watching the hammer.

No complaints. Like stated earlier, it's not the type of range weapon that you'd want to put a few hundred rounds through each weekend. It's a single stack subcompact designed for concealment.

Get something bigger if you want a plinking gun. Get the PF9 if you want something invisible IWB.
