Now our inner geeks are coming out....
Undiscovered country was the best Star Trek movie ever. Lots of subtle humor (mostly anachronistic / cultural in nature), we get to see Kirk in a knock-down brawl with a hot shape-shifting alien, and the writing for the principal cast I thought really flowed well.
Of course, First Contact was also the best Star Trek movie ever. Frakes get a director's credit, Troi gets wasted, the Borg get mad, Picard gets even, and who doesn't love James Cromwell as the grumpy old derelict / savior of all mankind?
OTOH, Wrath of Khan was also the best Star Trek movie. Good use of Melville, a little backstory on Kirk, an epic battle against a worthy foe. Good ole' fashioned cowboys & Indians in space.
Not by a long shot for me. While Picard was trying to talk his way out of the situation and Kirk was winding up for a punch, Adama would simply shoot them both in the head, have their corpses flushed out of the nearest airlock, and then desecrate their memories by accusing them both of treason and sedition.

+1 on Wrath of Khan - Plus it has several of the best examples in cinema history of gratuitous scenery chewing, both by Shatner and Montalban.
"Buried aliiiiveee........."
"KKKKKHHHHHHAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!"
And many other examples.

The guy who plays McCoy is full of awesome. He alone was worth the price of admission. Didn't really like him in The Chronicles of Riddick, but in this movie he really got the essence of McCoy down to a T.
I thought the movie was a great take on the whole back story. But the ultimate plot of the movie and the development of the villain was a little weak sauce. What made Wrath of Khan and First Contact really brilliant were great villains. Eric Bana had a lot to give, but wasn't given enough screen time to really shine.
One thing I wasn't expecting and was glad to see were all the "inside" jokes at the expense of the Trek universe. All I will say is that you'd better not be wearing a red shirt on an away mission!
I liked it, but left the theater wanting a little more. This was a damn good setup for a pile of other movies in the new franchise. The plot was a gimmick to explain away the lack of continuity there will be in respect to the Original series and Movies. Hopefully they'll be able to continue with the existing cast, and come up with a plot with more substance.

Geez, I sound like a movie geek or something I picked up that characteristic from my wife.

Well, I was on the road tonight and didn't want to sit in the hotel, so I went. Me, two couples and half a dozen fat single guys sitting in the theater in downtown Joplin MO.
I did really enjoy it. I'm not a Star Trek geek, so can't compare this one to that one, can't name all the movies or spell all the names, but just as a fun movie, it was all good.
