Default Vehicle shipping companies suggestions

Here in the next month or two I should be ready to ship my newly purchased Miata. Y8s has been wonderfully helpful and patient with me during this process and has suggested a few shippers. I'd just like to get some of your opinions on the various shipping companies out there.

If you wouldn't mind sharing your opinions and experiences I would be most appreciative.

Any reason you are not flying out to DC and driving it home yourself? Hell for the right price Shuiend shipping LLC will hand deliver it. Y8s will vouch for my shipping experience.

I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan and the wife owns her clinic so she can't up and leave. I'm not due to be back in the states until mid April.

When I was deployed, I had a couple people from CR.net drive my car from Columbus, Ohio to LA. Never met them - I payed for two plane tickets and half of the fuel cost. Since they were both miata enthusiasts, I knew it would be taken care of. Everything turned out awesome, cheapest way to ship too!!!

I ship cars on almost a bi-weekly basis using central dispatch.
It is not going to be cheap, when you are ready to ship shoot me a PM and I can post it for you. The benefit of this is that you don't have to pay a middle man to ship it, you pay trucking company COD.

I was extremely happy with Exotic Car Transport out of Orlando when they shipped my 3-series from Washington state. Quick turnaround, very thorough, updates from the driver, arrived early and very reasonable for an enclosed transport that only took about 4 days to cross the country, corner to corner.

However, it was not inexpensive.

They sound like a good company. I've never shipped a vehicle so I don't know what a good deal is.

I would consider Shuiend LLC but I didn't think they went that far.

I bet he's cheap and you could cover him on your own car insurance as an additional driver for the time it takes to drive there.

Depending on the logistics of it, I might be interested. I have always wanted to drive across the US.

I use Central Dispatch also. Ship a few vehicles a week. Would probably work out pretty well for your situation. If you aren't in a hurry, you can list it low and gradually raise the price til you get a call from a carrier looking to haul it.

There is really no specific company. Last time I shipped my car I just placed a price on how much I was going to pay, and then truck drivers bid on it. The lower the amount, the more time it will be on stand by, and no truck driver will take it unless very desperate for money, and of course risking quality control.

Lets make this **** work. I am pretty sure you need to buy a WRX in Cali. I then fly from Texas to California to pick it up and have 18psi tune it. Then I drive it back to DC for you.

I actually did put up a feeler on Uship. So far the lowest is 1150.00 and that company has excellent reviews.

No Jennifer, no care. Actually I'd prefer the long white hairded dude because he travels with a kitty, he also seems like a real ******* which I'd get along with.

I once shipped a car from VA to WI for $700. That's about all I can really offer this thread. They came like 2 weeks late to pick it up and got stuck in the city streets in richmond because they came with one of those huge multi-car big rig things and he couldn't make a turn and broke a hydraulic line. then some hippies complained that we were polluting and made the bio-hazard team come out.
