I would've been out of that damn thing in ten minutes, I got to help an elevator tech on a commercial construction job for about 6 months a while back, I'm not an expert but i know my way around an elevator. After those few months though i will never get on another set of escalators due to the stories I heard from that ole' bastard.

My dad got trapped in an elevator a month ago at a Holiday Inn for about 45 minutes. He went to pay (was on his way to check out) and the counter girl looks at him and says, "Weren't you just stuck in the elevator?" and she called the manager and she cried and comped the room. Dad was just like "meh, w/e it happens" but the staff was freaking out. The firemen basically had to disassemble the elevator around him to get him out.
