Farewell FE3t Miata
At 10am this morning the 100+ year sweet gum tree in my backyard took a fall. It took out half my garage, in which the Miata was parked (yes on that side), my bro-in-law's chevy pickup and my wife's RX300. Also ripped up the side of our house and roof, crunched the neighbor's deck and got their porch too. On the bright side, everybody was leaving this morning after the holiday visit - all from the driveway in that very spot. My bro-in-law was in his truck just five minutes before it fell and decided to come back into the house with my sis to say good bye. Just before that, I'd taken my kids to school, right as my parents left. So as bad as it looks, it was very good (lucky) day. Oh- and no comprehensive on the Miata - but what are the odds I'd need that? Shot below is standing on the trunk and aiming towards the top.

No luck with homo's covering the car. I don't know how bad the car is yet, but the top and back end are shorter than the used be because the garage roof is about the height the car was. Not happy with all the destruction, but this truly is a moment to reflect on how bad it could have actually been, and realize how lucky we were. I can buy another car, and I can swap an engine. I've done it before.

jeez! good thing no one was outside at the time. sucks about your car though. :( Man, you seem to be in good spirits. I'd be beside myself. Hard to tell from the pictures, is that the garage?
How bad did the car get it?
Have you looked into your homeowner's policy covering the car?
