I think he just painted the stock miata parts. Not such a good choice. Wonder if that air intake actually does something. Would have been nicer to actually pay someone to integrate it into the hood and repaint it though. I thought the mazda speed was only a 2004 model?

Nice CF airbox, and then that hideous wrap..

... and from the looks of it he really wants people to believe it's a MSM..

Hmmm. $10,750 is about right for a dealer-bought '03 with 42kM, but they're gonna have to find a real special buyer to move that particular example of the species.

Some people should just not be allowed access to the RacingBeat catalog...

I just want to know who thought it was a good idea to take a vented headlight cover for a NA and stick it on a NB hood......

If that's a joke, then you need a smilie... if that's a serious question, then you need to look at the engine bay one more time. Notice anything missing... like a turbo?

I see the look the guy was going for. The black-framed lights are fine, and the black spoiler/mirrors/door-handles carry that theme through OK... but he paints the black up too high on the body kit. As the body-kit pieces curve upwards at the fenders, it needs to stop... which means either buy some aftermarket valences that actually stop, or don't paint them.

The wood-grain pieces in the cockpit are WAY out of place... needs CF to complete the effect for the interior.

I kinda like the black on red, short of the wing, headlight covers, and the barndoor vent. Then I notice the hood pin is in the vent, can anyone explain that?

I would role THAT. Right after I painted the ground effects and spoiler. I would take the lid off the hood and install a duct, if there was a hole there.

No, it's not a MSM.
Guy obviously got some parts from a black MSM and tossed them on his red 03.

Paint all the body panels to match and add a turbo. You'd have a nice car. Though the "air scoop" is pretty funny.

You are right. The paint code is for a Classic Red (A3E) when the mazdaspeeds should be 27A for Velocity Red. Lame. I hope they aren't trying to sell this as a Mazdaspeed car. And the mazdaspeed didn't show up until 2004.

Still, it isn't a terrible price for a 2003. According to KBB private party values, it shows around $10.2k for a 'fair' condition car. Of course, there is no information on what type of turbo kit that is.

He never SAYS it's a mazdaspeed (that I see anyway) just has all the badges, etc.. from one...So I think it's safe to say he's not trying to sell it as one.

I can only imagine how the things been dogged by it's appearance, It's got a nice top though

Guys, there is nothing in the ad that even remotely hints they're trying to sell it as an MSM, and anybody who cares to look will see it's clearly not.

The guy was going for a "look" and he didn't quite make it... a decent attempt... things look painted well and the car has a "complete" feel to it, not like he crapped out halfway through his thought process... it's just not what any of us would have done.

That's kinda where my thought process was...that being said, the title to my car says the owner is/was of Hispanic descent.

There very obviously is not turbo.
Seller never tries to mislead people into thinking the car is either turbo, msm, or both. The location of the duct looks like it would line up perfectly with where the air filter would go in an isolation box if the car were turbo. It's quite easy to see that someone got a hold of a black msm and move some parts over. $500 in paintwork would make that car look nice.

WHAT TURBO KIT?? I see shitty heat wrapping on the stock plastic intake pipe, carbon fiber airbox with racing beat 1.6L MAF elbow, and a stainless steel header... Am I missing something?
