or wait a couple of months for the buzz to die down and save the addendum money you're surely going to have to shell out.

rule of thumb: never buy the first of anything, wait at least a year. think of all the dudes who bought 2004 STis.

Then I'd buy it, trading the Hyundai for pennies.

A) Plenty of places selling these for MSRP. I suppose you might be able to buy for closer to invoice in a year, but there's no guarantee. Even assuming that was true, is that savings worth waiting 12 months?

B) What huge upgrade came in 2005 over the 2004 STi?

a. I called a Subaru dealership in Miami and they wanted a $5,000 market adjustment fee even though I said I was paying cash. Subaru of New Port Richey, Mastro Subaru in Tampa and Reeves Subaru all had dealer fees too.

b. lug pattern being the biggest "improvement"

1. Switch from 5x100 to 5x114 which included much better bearings. Wheel selection for 5x114 is much, much better than 5x100. Longevity of bearings was much improved.

2. Some minor changes to the powersteering rack including how it mounts. Apparently better steering feel, better longevity of steering mount bushings, etc. etc.

3. Apparently some minor engine tuning changes that made driveability better, and stock tune is generally safer?

Biggest is #1 even though it might not seem like a big deal.

I went out for a drive today and got the oil temps rising up.

Motor pulled timing and Throttle plate. Good job factory ems.

If I could I would but I can't. Only mods are intake header exhaust. I'm guessing reflash would probably net like 40hp tops.

also
radio/speakers standard
also better synchros in the trans
slightly different spring rates and shocks
but thats really about it.

and I don't know what you're talking about the tune

if anything I think the 07 got the most improvements: better gearing, better head parts, different ecu, top feed injectors, improved hotside, etc.

Dealer called me. They don't have any in stock, and wanted me to put down a deposit for them to get one up here to test drive. WTF??

I want to test drive to see if I like it. I'm not gonna buy one sight unseen, you nimrod. Used those exact words (minus the nimrod part), and he put me on hold for a sec. Manager came on the line to try to talk me into some sort of payment, or promise to go to stealership and make one.

I hung up on them. They did not call back. This economy and they think that 25 grand is an impulse purchase?

Going to contact the Toyota place tomorrow.
