For the ~$300 price of a junkyard engine, I'd start with a new block than reuse this one. That sealer is designed to stick to things that you don't want it sticking to inside your oil galleries. Especially if your about to dump a boat loat more coin into it.

Since it's water soluble, a dip in the hot tank should make everything good again.

I do have my doubts just dipping it will make it come off, since it's supposed to hold against boiling water in normal use. :-) But I think it could be cleaned, just check later.
