Default Warning: If you use Mobil 1 filters

I dont know if this matters, maybe im just a nit picking sob but I stick my hands in EVERYTHING.

I was just shopping for a Mobil 1 filter, and I use the M-104 filters on my car from Integras. Anyway, I stuck my pinky into the filter to feel around for anything out of the ordinary. First 2 filters I went through the filter had a rubber piece sticking out inside the filter, right around the circumference that is after the hole. It was in a U shape, and felt as though it slipped out from under something. 1 filter was worse then the other.

Maybe im just bat **** insane, but that didnt feel normal. I eventually found one that didnt have that problem, and everything felt fine.

Dont know if it matters. Just a heads up.

unless you know how mobil 1 designed their oil filters, i wouldn't go speculating as to the function of the rubber in the hole.

Isn't there some sort of valve inside an oil filter? Could that be what you felt?
