Check wiki and other sites. Striped Bass are called rockfish and stripers.
Rainbow trout are only freshwater and a totally different species. They don't even look remotely the same, neogenesis. Maybe you're thinking of sea trout (do occasionally make it to the Chesapeake Bay) or just striped bass?
FYI, early April and late November are good times for "trophy" rockfish. Limit is 1 per day, but we average 37" keepers. The largest we caught was 44". Nowhere near some of the other boats/charters that get even larger ones.
