Default Amusing story from friday

I work off a road called New Peachtree. After I turn on to it from the "main" road, I take New Peachtree for just over 1/4 mile before turning into my place of employment. This road starts as 2 lanes each way, but quickly necks down to 1 lane each way at about 1/8 mile.

So Friday I turned onto New Peachtree, and got stuck at the first red light. Did I mention there was a traffic light right after I get on it? Well, there is, and it was red. There's a yellow S2K sitting next to me, and I just got this feeling from the guy, that he wanted to go. The light went green, I gave a normal launch, nothing harder than typical. The S2K left hard. I gave him 1 1/2 or 2 car lengths (I was already in 2nd gear at ~20mph or so), and hit it.

I dusted the S2K like he was standing still. Which seems to be par for the course, but if you don't remember MY EBC WENT OUT. Right now I'm running the Forge MBC to about 10 psi, but spool is late and slow compared to the EBC.

After I pulled into the parking lot, one of my coworkers pulled in not 15 seconds later. I asked him if he saw what happened. He said he didn't see it, but assumed I blew the doors off the S2K. "Yeah, I shut him down," I said.

8 hours later, someone walks into work, pronouncing "Who's got that riced out Miata?" Then he smiled. "I've got that yellow S2K that you shut down this morning. Damn your car is fast. Did I hear a turbo?"

Aaaah, +1 for stealthiness.

I've had a couple of guys pull up alongside after the 2'nd or 3'rd stoplight and ask "Hey, what kind of engine you got in that thing?" to which my smug reply is always "1.6 liter." My favorite of late was a newish Mustang GT. That one was actually very close- not by any means a shutout like most of the DSMs that try to race (basically I was keeping pace with him, maybe leading by a few inches) but the Mustang owner actually asked (through his open window, while driving) "You got an LS1 in that thing?" No. But apparently people are starting to hear about those.

But I have never had anyone show up eight hours later.

You must have really blown him away if he didn't get to your work for eight hours after the light.

Good story, Ben. How'd he know that's where you work, did he see you pull in or something?

Maybe he somehow assumed the Mazda would be at Mazmart.

I beat a supercharged 350Z the other day on my local twisty roads, no problem.

One day I hope to post kill stories as well, I have people rollin up on me all the damn time. Obviously my reverse psychology strategy is working, now I only need to get the ***** part of it as well and I'll be kicking some ***.
I did get to ride along in my buddies NB with 230rwhp@11psi while he cold-bloodedly murdered a 350Z, it was epic.

I need turbo bad. My car is lowered with rims. All these punk kids are always pulling up. I usually still win with the Civics.
But a turbo Gti caught me with my pants down and at 80. I knew I was going to loose. But there is no sence being a punk. It was good motivation for psi.

Put a huge miataturbo.net stickers across the back bumper... more people will want to race you than you are willing to buy gas for.
