Default Fun Drive To Work

My drive to work this morning was very interesting. I pulled out on Main St, Mexico City, and noticed a blue C5 vette coming up behind me. I gave it a little gas, just seeing if I could get it's attention. It worked.

The Vette had an aftermarket front lip, and small rear spoiler. It had a flame blue front, and yellow body. Had exhaust (mufflers at least) and it was an auto. The guy put a "Z06" plate between the exhaust tips (to scare people I guess), and had dealer plates.

For most of the way up Main St, we were both trying to find an open section to get some fun runs in. We finally got an empty stretch and lined up next to each other.

Low roll (not sure on speed, I was just getting even with him when he hit it 20-30ish), and he got the hit. Dead even thru 2d, start pulling in 3d. I really don't know how many cars I got on him, but it was a few.

Need to get a new wastegate actuator first. Been waiting for some time to work on it more, but things have been so busy here, so hopefully in a few weeks I'll post up some new dyno #s.

It only takes 185whp to walk on a vette? I'm very impressed. I need boost :(

yeah... at 180-190whp on fast-spooling turbo and good driving your 0-60 is around 5 seconds.

My last track day an old friend of mine showed up. I'd done a ProDrive thing several years ago and he happened to be at that also. We both really liked the prodrive thing and that's what got me started into driving HPDE club events. I hadn't seen him since that 1st prodrive class. He showed up with a really nice but stock 1st gen Z06. He wasn't very happy when he kept having to point my 14 year old girly little Miata by! 240 hp + r-comps make for a lot of fun.

I've got a lot of respect for Vettes. An experienced driver or a few mods and they can be monsters. Sure fun busting the ego of guys that think the vette is invulnerable to all but outrageous track cars though.

The 16G isn't a bad turbo man. The manifold sucks because it cracks and the stock intake tube blows, and the FPR sucks but the turbo itself isn't horribly inefficient by any means for sub 250 hp cars.

yeah, I'm giddy over it. My sister drove a 180whp miata with race pads and 225 r-comps on friday and said she got the car up to 110mph before threshold braking to 30mph at our local track...I should be able to keep up with a GT3rs on MPH in addition to mechanical grip and braking. Hopefully the 50-ish hours of track time in one year taught me something.

I'm hitting somewhere between 103-105mph at that braking zone with 120whp. I don't know the exact speed because I have only glanced at the gauges and have to threshold brake, so I look at the track.
I would love to know the speed Keith Verges hits on that straight with "the mule". He was hauling so much *** on Friday!
The only familiar thing about your car will be the suspension and you will most likely want to upgrade.
The fastest time I recorded was a 1:27.19 running CCW. Apparently Spec Miata's are running in the 1:25 neighborhood. I'm curious what I could run in a Spec.

I'm going to let the #'s do the talking. I know no one running my combo, so I have nothing to go by. I was pretty happy with the suspension, and I've never driven my car on r-comps...only yours, lol. I'm still going to have a hard time dropping $1400 on suspension when I can accidentally run over a "city-titty" or a pot-hole one time and be out $1400.

lol this is funny. yesterday the same thing happened to me except with a red NC miata.
now usually i give any miata drive the thumbs up but this guy looked over saw my na and laughed. now i dont know why he laughed but im thinking he thought it was slow. he instantly downshifted and started pulling away, at which point i decided to put it in 3rd gear and gun it. i reeled him in so quick i just held it at high rpm next to him and waved lol. i let off and he just kept going. lol whats with that!! i swear this is the 5th NC owner that ive seen that was an *******.

I see lots of chicks driving NC's.

He's probably a member of a "wine and cheese", "let's go on drives below the posted speed limit" miata club. Their are lots of those douches here in the DFW area.
I've never had one look down on me like that, but I also don't daily my miata.

Ray_Sir_6: Do you have any current pics of your beater.
