Dont get the auto. I've driven a couple auto subies, its like worse than normal the 4aet or whatever it is is just horrid. It will say in 3rd in those 10mph corners and refuses to do anything unless you boot it. And if you do floor it it goes though like every single gear in a random order 3 times before picking a gear. Oh and the autos normally default to fwd and only turn the rear wheels on after it sense slip, supposedly.

I mean I'd take a scoob manual over an auto most of the time, but that's not to say all of them are horrid. I've driven quite a few that I actually really enjoyed on a daily commute/traffic/etc and were fairly decent when forced to work hard. Like the legacy gt I tuned a few months ago, with the "sport" function and little buttons on the wheel to switch gears if you wanted to. Not bad at all IMO
Also the newer trans' can be tuned which makes a giant difference
Also they are always on. Can you make the car fwd by pulling a fuse? Yes. But that's the only time it is so

Traded my auto FXT for a Frontier last November. I miss the low end and effortless power. Absolutely do not miss that piece of donkey ***-encrusted **** transmission. I'm sure the versions with sport mode are better, but my 2007 was absolute ****. Want to destroy some ricer civic *** off the line? Better get it to short shift into 2nd and then go or the turbo will literally stop spinning in the time it takes the transmission to shift near redline.
