When gas hits 10.00 a gallon...
What do you think will happen when it hits 10.00 a gallon? Probably in like 2 years the way things are going.
I've heard everything from too bad life goes on, to resource wars and being knocked halfway back to the stone age.
So what's your opinion?

Gas was $.17 in 1930 and houses cost under $10k. As time goes on, people generally make more money and things cost more. I still don't understand why people are still bitching about gas prices. If you don't like, drive a hybrid or take the bus. *Or* STFU and buy your gas, just like everyone else does.
The majority of the people that bitch about gas prices aren't doing **** about, aside from bitching about it. What can you do really? I'd say its really out of our hands as consumers. Best bet would be a strike of some sort, but us Americans hate each other too much to do something like that.
I am sooo tired of hearing about gas prices. Really, don't go out to dinner as much, or the movies, quit smoking, don't buy that $100 pair of jeans. Do you like to drive? Then deal with it!

Gas won't hit $10 over the next 2 years. It's stupid speculation like this that is what's currently driving the price up.
Let's state that again. SPECULATION is driving the price up. Not supply and demand. There is plenty of supply of crude. This will be regulated eventually.
High gas prices lead to recession. It's already happening. If gas really were to hit $10/gallon you'll have other priorities to deal with first. Like food, shelter, and water.

Actually as I originally posted I was wondering what your opinion would be of what would happen if it reaches 10 a gallon not a bunch of bitching about why it will get there.

8 years ago regular (89 Octane) was selling for C $ 0.28/liter ( or US $ 1.05 gallon) (exchange rate was C $ 1.50 = US 1.00)
Today
Gas has hit C $ 1.50/ liter = US $ 5.67/ gal
(exchange rate C $ 1.00 = US 1.00 +/- a cent or 2)
$ 10.00 a gallon will be soon

I have 5 people under my roof and right now we spend between $1100-$1300 a month on just food. I get no assistance of any kind and nor do I want any. If gas gets that high then I think we will have a very large hunger and poverty problem on our hands.

OF course everyone will have a large number of poverty problems, and there's already a large amount of unemployment. For like 2 years I've been considering running a "biodiesel" car. I'm really reluctant to run a turbo miata on ethanol, because ethanol has it's head shoved up its own ***. Why the **** is it made from corn...god dammit people are dumb.
Personally I think more cars will begin running on E85, and we'll switch to something more productive than running it on corn. It's only run on corn because of lobbyists. It should be run on switch grass.
Also, Alberta Canada has the worlds second largest oil deposits. The already no longer want to be part of canada (and history implies they want to be in the US, the were once under the Louisiana purchase.)
Believe it or not, right now China is actually what's driving up the price of oil.

I eat about $120 per week, but I'm putting away 4500 cals per day. I try not to spend more than $300 per month on wine...lol. Gas prices have really affected my wine consumption.

Well a big chunk goes to my wifes grandmother. Shes home all day and all she eats is that boxed microwavable ****. Without her we would easily be under 1k a month.

lev-that's what you get for a free babysitter, one thing I learned is that business and family should not mix.
As long as people keep paying the $$ at the pumps, gas is not coming down, unless we get over ourselves quit bitching on public forums and start participating in local politics, **** is not gonna change.
