I need to drop from 185# to 165#, but I'm also doing workouts with weights as well as distance cycling. If I can hit 165# by mid summer, my body fat will be about 11%.

MarkP, I thought you were going for grad school for psychology? What made you decide on the Navy instead? if you aren't sqared away when you get there in July, they'll just IPT the weight off of you!

I went from 237-183 before I came into the army, if we're looking at previous losses. Trail-biking and lifting was the ticket for me.

MarkP - Good luck Ensign, OCS will take the weight off, I promise.

I will do a body fat % competition with someone. The prize is: Loser gets the title "Resident Lazy ***" haha. Simple rules of a body fat % competition: you must go to a local gym and have a body fat diagnosis done

As far as going to OCS.. my friend lost like 17 lbs in 3 months there haha.

**edit: all weight loss programs based on portioned pre-cooked meals are terrible for you.

mmmmmmmm..........cake.

I'm at 210 right now. I'm skinny fat. I have the frame of someone who's a buck fifty, but i'm wearing a lard sweater vest over that frame. lol.

I could get in this. I could sure use the motivation.

I train with weights at least 3-4 times a week, resting days I use a weighted jump rope go on and off non stop for 20 mins, stop for ten, then jump back in with the rope for another 20....that tecnique works wonders, so far I've lost 18 pounds and about 8% body fat so I guess doing that in 4 weeks is pretty good no

Ah son of a bitch Im at like 13% body fat right now....spare tire needs to go , what are you ? all muscle lol. im working out along with use of cla and whey proteins, healthy fats and im eating 5 to 6 small meals throughout the day, 2 meals are me special protein shake blend:
-2 cups of 8th conteinent chocolate soy milk-180 cal
-1 scoop any whey(tasteless) 110 cal
-1 scoop designer whey chocolate p-poweder-100 cal
-one container of light fruit yogurt-80 cal
-3 table spoons of ground flaxseed(omega 3 fatty acids)
-1 tablespoon of penut butter
-15 ice cubes

Blend all this and you have one kick *** high protein shake, filled with healthy fats, lean and long lasting proteins that will keep you full for hours, all of the essential Amino acids for muscle growth and recovery....overal a kick *** low carb option, try it and let me know

The Navy is putting me through the Ph.D. program at USUHS at Bethesda Naval Center, the only catch is that I had to get commissioned (something I wanted to be honest.) Since I was prior enlisted I have 9 years TIS (Time in Service) and will draw pay as an O1E over 8 and the 5 years in school count for retirement and give me a 6 year obligation to active service after school is complete.

For the math impaired 9+5+6 = 20 years = eligible for retirement.

I was planning on going in the military after graduate school but starting pay of 68k a year (roughly) to pursue my doctoral degree is the sweetest deal I could have ever dreamed of.

Yeah mostly ive lived a high protien diet my whole life, and tend to overdo exercise more so than most people. Lots of lean sirloin steack potatos and alot of activity. Carbs are not the enemy they just need to stay mostly complex. but then agian this is nothing a good set of burnouts can't fix. I do mine abit different though. start around 200 and then osscilate from there by the end of the set you've done 100 + reps.

I weighed myself this morning and I weighed 201lbs at 5'8". I also tested my bf% and came out to 12%. This was with the calipers and I would really like to lose the extra weight that I am carrying. I think I will try to get my fatass girlfriend to quit watching so much damn tv. Does anybody else have this problem of their women getting a little too comfortable with the relationship, and bam, their *** is HUGE!!! I keep on telling her that she will lose weight or she is going to have to find another bed to watch tv in.
