Christ... at that price I might just buy a vinyl cutter. the smaller ones for doing an 8x2" sticker aren't very expensive.

don't buy one that doesn't specifically say it supports true type fonts and cuts vinyl. that one mentions "other media", but not specifically vinyl. I'll look around and see if I can find any at about that price that are more capable.

The new version of that one is exactly the same, but with USB. The new one costs about $600.

I wish I had some money to spend on a cutter. It would easily pay itself off localy in a year tops.

I have a n00b question though.. What is die cut? Is that like all one peice? Or is it like any ordinary decal that has individual letters/digits/symbols?

My local club buys small vinyl white ones for about $1 each in repeat lots of 50. Which of the various designs should I get a quote on? I don't want to waste their time.

I noticed that... problem is most of them are in the 8" range, which only gives them a 6-3/4" cut width. There are a select few that are 12" in the price range.

Die-cutting is what allows you to have a shape other than a rectangle. If your sticker just has straight edges with 90* corners, it's called guillotine-cut. Die cutting uses a fixture with a knife in the shape you want to cut - for instance, if you wanted to cut around the O in the logo to mimic the shape of the turbo, or if you wanted rounded corners.

Too many years in the business, I guess.

It's still one piece, die cutting just lets you be a little more creative with the actual shape of the sticker. Unfortunately, it costs more to do.
