Default Why?

On M.net why are people so ---- about "kill stories." If a mod senses that someone is talking about out accelerating another car on the street, the mods almost automatically the thread. Whats the deal with that, and when did all that start? Its like a chinese run forum now. :

It seems as if a lot of the people on there are old timers who think going above the speed limit is for whippersnappers.

With that said, I barely ever see kill stories on this forum, at least not as much as on some bimmer forums which have whole sections for them, which are filled with people chastising the op for driving too fast lol.

I matched, or slightly outaccellerated a bmw 7 series on the highway a few days ago up to 130mph ... surprised me how quick it was! Unfortunately could not get a good look at the model number for exact specs :( That was one fast mothafuckin land boat!

My motivation for building the Miata up is to be able to "kill" my grocery getter. The wife is skeptical the Miata can outrun her..

I friend had an automatic 96 automatic M3, that I smoked everytime we got on a nice long bridge after work. (And from stoplights, and when he would try to do flyby's) We would both leave at the same time.(That was with a M45 too a 60MM pulley.)
Bimmer guys always have an explanation why you beat them afterwards. His was always, "it started out in the wrong gear," or "if we raced to 150 I would have had you." I'm interested to see what the GT2560R will do. (8 Psi)

B4 good tune held pace with BMW M Roadster (boy was he pissed) all the way to 130, after tune walked away from VW GLI turbo up to 135.. Yeah I know it's a VW but the GLI turbo is actually pretty dam fast. Smoked a number of Stang GTs and Cobras. Now we get the kill thread going ;-) Met w/BEGI at the gap this year and they tuned my car at no cost (some minor after tuning was still required but it's good now). ooo almost forgot how much fun we had witha Jag XK8 coupe on the way back from the gap held pace with him too (he was a good sport), could out accel the jag till 120 or so of course the jag top end is rediulous ;-)

Don't forget that m.net is owned by Eunos Comms.... IT'S A BUSINESS! It's there to make money for the the owners of the company and for the sponsors who support it. Anything put out in their forums that could be offensive or in any way dangerous (endorses street racing, etc...) opens the company up for legal action. It's been that way forever.

<---Likes Bimmers <--- 7 series with the 400 hp v12 is pretty snappy i like. damn US spec M3's and auto's to boot give bimmers a bad name. Try that on a Eurospec M3, or a manual tranny M3 and you will be seeing license plate.

By december I should be able to pull away from a 6MT 00-06 M3. I should have some longer gears by then, and 12-15PSI

No one will ever race me! I need to get some stripes or something because they are always gunning for my wife's JRSC'd Miata.

1900#/220hp = 8.6

It is a nine year project (2003-2012) so I am in no hurry at all. I rarely do anything to the car (maybe one small project every couple of months). When I hit 45 years old I'll start my next car - V8 Miata (if I am still in to Miatas at that time) towing a Miata rear end as a trailer. The wife and I will probably do a lot of out of town drives then.

Once I beat a minivan in a drag race. Pretty cool.

But I have a blast messing with people on canyons by my house. I waited at a local spot for a little while at about 1:30am a couple of days ago and waited for someone who was obviously pushing it (tire squeal) and then got in my car and chased them down after about 4 corners. Too bad it was a neon (non-srt4 I believe) and a new Lexus IS something or other. But never try and outrun a Porsche, those things are damn fast, I had a new c4 or turbo all up my butt.
