anyone have experience with a 2001+ mazda millenia? I think this is the right car for me actually. Its big, not too boring, looks fairly cool, and they sell cheap used.

The Millenia S with the supercharger is a nightmare for maintenance. There is a reason they are selling cheap, they weren't cheap new.
I owned a Protege5 and it was an awesome car. No power to speak of but it was reliable and versitile. Very fun car to drive, you should check it out.

I'd go with a Rex like Markp suggested. I've also got a Forester XT. Plenty of mods and quite a reliable car. You can buy used upgrades all day long. NASIOC classifieds are probably one of the biggest.
Changing plugs ain't that hard unless you're retarded. Sure they aren't sitting on top of the motor, but if you've got a small ratchet, a wobble and a stubby extension, you're good to go.
