Yeah. It's incredible to see what the Europeans are doing in this World Cup. Both 2006 finalists were sent home and either Germany or England are next to say goodbye (if not Spain tomorrow). I don't see any European team reaching the finals this time around. Wow!
The more I watch the USA the more I like that team. Bradley is a really good coach and he's doing an excellent job.

Omg bad call with mexico and argentina, I thought the england goal was worse though. But it looks like theres about to be a fight lol.

Argentina had trouble getting over Mexico. The first goal is a clear offside and then that gift form Osorio just destroyed the Mexicans. I dont think Argentina will beat Germany. In my opinion they have been extremely lucky till now.

Lalas is like Hugo Sanchez, talks **** about everyone and everything. Bradley did a good job, USA needs a better striker. The US misses A LOT.

I just can't get over how much the calls are affecting the games....and that's just the one's that directly affect scoring. Questionable fouls are to be expected, but the rash of poor calls giving and taking goals has been unreal. I do think they need to look at replays for scoring...even MLB does this now. Let the refs do the calls on the field for play, but leave scoring opportunities to the plethora of technology we now have.
Yes, in both cases yesterday there were more goals than the bad call, so technically they weren't game deciding calls like the US-Slovenia deal, but you can't argue that those kind of travesties don't play a BIG part in the mental game. While I still feel like the better teams won yesterday, the better team in any match comes down to a lot more than skill and tactics, including drive and heart, which are affected by luck and arbitration.
Mexico started playing sloppy and with less heart after that horrid and apparent offside goal. Tell me how Dempsey was offside against Algeria but Tevez wasn't in this case. Osorio's bobble would likely not have happened if they hadn't been so upset about the unfair call (of course it also wouldn't have happened if he wasn't in the game, both him and Bautista are worthless).
England was well on their way back, but was robbed of an equalizer right before the half. Anyone that's watched more than 5 matches knows how important it is to go into the half tied on a comeback, and what being ahead after 45 does for the winner. Any ref with a mild understanding of the physics of the game would know that hitting the crossbar on the underside will put backspin on the ball, and that if it touches both ground and bar twice it was surely on the other side of the line once. The look on Neuer's face was enough to tell you he was waiting on a favorable call, and that he wasn't crediting himself with the save.
EDIT: Also, I feel that the US does need to learn how to finish better, but it looked like they almost didn't care anymore Saturday. I'm not making excuses for them, but if 33% of your goals in a tournament have been called back, what kind of value do you put on the reward for good finishing? /EDIT
Our household teams are out. I can't root for Argentina after yesterday. I used to have respect for them, but between Messi not raising his hand and Maradona being a little bitch after the game that is gone. Sportsmanship should go along with excellence. Good thing Germany will absolutely put them on their asses. They're playing some magnificent ball, and Argentina has been coasting through like the bright lazy kid that sits at the back of the class.
I guess I'm up in the air between rooting for Germany and Spain, but like Uruguay and Portugal if they make it through. Of course I never mind watching the Brazilians.

Germany has a long tradition of employing gastarbeiter (guest workers) for menial labor. Although some were known for participating in a less than voluntarily capacity in the past.

Damon, I think both calls yesterday dictated the result of the game. If England's goal had not been nuled, Capello would not have come out so offensive looking to tied the game. England would've definetely been more careful, specially knowing how deadly the ******* Germans are countering.
In Mexico's case, although I hate them lets call what fair, they were all over Argentina. That goal was not even questionable. Things like that bring down a teams psycology, specially when there's a sense that the other team is "better". Then came that error, and that was the game.
Maradona is a faggo t.

I was thinking of when they conquered Poland and made the Poles and Jews work at forced labor in their factories and later the camps. And more recently there have been thousands of Turks move there in the last 25 years to work voluntarily. A buddy and I got jumped by a group of about twelve Turks in Germany but that is another story...
