I must be getting old. I remember when Total Recall was in theatres. I just saw a trailer for "Total Recall". They're making a remake? Seriously? Can't you guys wait until I'm like 50 so I don't feel like you're just tryin to milk another franchise?
Gtfo.

Gtfo.
That was my initial reaction until I watched the preview. Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, modern graphics and special effects with stuff blowing up all over the place...

I'm in.

It does look like a better scripted, better effects version...I'll give them that.

they are just making sure every generation gets to see every movie in a fashion they can relate to.... orrrrr milk it for all it's worth. the previews kind of made me want to see it though too so i felt a little ashamed for getting sucked in.

I'd totally watch a remake of that movie. Barely noticed it the other day.

First thought was: "Really?"

Second though was: "Fuggit, bet it's better than the Governator's version..."

Who's got the cliff notes for this old man? Wasn't it a book? Or a game or something?

The book was supposed to be much better than the original movie. Movie was loosely based on a book with a different title. Never read it though.

Also, Bryan Cranston. Will watch.

From Wiki: It is loosely based on the Philip K. Dick story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale".

Book (and author) were great. Movie, not so much. Typical Ahh-nold action flick.

To me, 80's action movies (Arnold, Sylvester, Van Dam, Norris, etc) were the pinnacle of action movies. Everything about them screamed testerone; over the top action sequences, 1 guy dominating a group of 10 people at once, cheesy but awesome one liners, etc.

I love 80's actions movies. Remaking them loses their magic to me.

Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel. These two names together are enough reason for me to see any movie.

While I won't try to pretend that the Arnold version was full of great character development or deep, interesting plot lines, I have to agree with Karter on this one. There' something absurdly and uniquely fun about action films of the late 70s and 80s.

I just happened to see a commercial for the new film (I'm at a hotel, and stuck with just live TV) and I just wasn't impressed. Looked like a bunch of CG action sequences and maybe a couple of suggestive partial-tit shots, and nothing more. No cheesy one-liners that you can repeat over and over, no cartoon mayhem, nothing much at all but a bunch of pretty renderings.

Cheesy one liners and 80's action flicks (especially ones staring Arnold) are awesome. That's such a huge part of my childhood. I can't tell you how many times I've seen ET or the chucky movies...freakin Silver spoons, who's the boss?, so much stupid waste of my life watching tv for shows that are just a page of history now.
+1 for anybody who knows who the main character of "my secret identity" was.

Even though it's all new actors, the three-breasted prostitute does make a return appearance.

Yeah, how many batman movies do we need? I remember when Michael Keaton was batman. I think it was Michael Keaton...it's been a while. It doesn't matter. Seems like they need to remake a movie for every generation I guess...sounds like Joanie loves Cha-chi to me. (milkin the franchise)
