It's not perfect, but it does help. This was the first time I've seen ammo listed as in stock on the app and it did not lie. Tried to score some .40 couple weeks ago when the one by my work had it listed as limited stock and was told they had some a couple days before and it was long gone. Some politely worded inquires revealed they usually stock ammo at 9-10pm or 7am and shipments come in few times per week. That Walmart and another nearby pretty much always show 50rd packs of .40 WWB as limited stock. As Scott mentioned, it's a separate system and not 100% accurate. If you're not the typical dick that they usually deal with, they are going to be nice, friendly and helpful with your quest for ammo.

Anybody know what the pre-scare price for .44mag was? I think a nice 6-8" revolver might have to be my next purchase and I'm curious what the normal price for ammo is.

Stopped by that same walmart this evening after work and they were sold out, despite the app reporting limited stock. The gun counter lady was actually surprised it was all gone. C'est la vie.

Don't suppose anyone has a Marlin/Glenfield Model 60 laying around missing some parts or otherwise they'd be willing to sell? Have a sudden urge for a semi-auto .22lr with iron sights and absolutely love my current early 1970s Glenfield Model 60..

Posted on a local forum as a WTB, hopefully since there is NO freaking .22lr available someone will have one to sell for a song.. Mine cost $60.00 as you see it, minus the mounted scope. Talk about a steal..

Would you notify the fire dept of your stash? Seriously, I count those boys as highly in respect to our soldiers and police officers. I would hate to see any get hurt/killed b/c of my stash in flames... followed by criminal charges.

In the city where I work, the info on the hazard materials form would never make it to the guys fighting a fire at your home. Someone at city hall would just use the info you gave, to try to get a hazard assessment that would never make it to the fire dept.

I'm gonna talk to my capt (who's a huge reloader) if he has any suggestions on how to keep your firefighters safe, while keeping your privacy.

What's the going rate for one of these in used condition? Still works fine, but has scratches on the finish.

I'm thinking about selling. I traded a 12ga for it a little more than 15yrs ago. it's fun to shoot, but I have no use for it. I need to get it to the range one last time for some fun.

There is also a .22lr Uzi I wanted for $344, but .22lr is sadly and retardedly scarce now.

Sucked it up and went to the VaBch gunshow with a buddy yesterday... WOW! The place was deserted. Showed up Sunday at 10:30 and there were 3 people in line to buy tickets. I counted about 150ppl inside the show.

Nobody was buying anything. I was there about 2.5hrs and didn't see a single gun sold.

All the tables looked to be back to regular stock, and there was plenty of all kinds of ammo (except .22lr, which the only stuff for sale was Walmart bulk-packs at private tables for 5x retail). .223 was still .80-$1rd, and .308 was down to about .75rd.

There was more reloading stuff than I've seen in 5 months, one vendor was fully stocked, and a few more smaller tables had limited supply at about 20% over retail.

I bought 1000rds of 9mm brass for $40 (don't judge) and 1000 Winchester primers for $30 (which I thought was pretty good).

My thoughts are that the greater gun community has seen the bubble burst, and that it's going to take a few more weeks of selling nothing to convince retailers that prices need to come down. Gun people I think at this point are going to refuse to pay more than regular retail, and "new" gun people have bought all they're going to.

If the rest of the gunshows in the country had similar attendance to the one I saw today, I think I'm going to bump my timeline for gun costs coming down to "any week now" and ammo prices mid'ish summer.

Personally I think it's kinda funny how all the elite operators of the gun community used to poopoo on .22lr like it's childsplay.. Now look whos laughing.

You know what I have to say to that? ******* *******!!

No 338 here, too rich for my blood.

In other news, I managed to find my unicorn! Just got a txt from someone selling a 1970s vintage "looks good shoots great" Marlin Model 60 that's been sitting in his safe for 30 years... $65! Meeting him tomorrow to trade my cash for his awesome rifle.. Not sure why I'm quite so excited about that since there's no freaking ammo out there to shoot with..

Was peeping on my DSA 300blk upper which I ordered Jan 16th from their website lastnight and discovered the order is actually MISSING... WTF?! Quick phone call to the company today and a very nice woman answered the phone and verified my order was still there. In the process of switching their online ordering it's screwing with the information customers can view, but thankfully nothing was lost. Current wait on the 300blk is 4-6 months, she figured it would likely ship in the next month. Now if I only had bullets and powder for the 1000 pieces of brass I've got . . . .

But badass man! Whether you can buy ammo right now or not, you will NEVER find a deal like that again!!! Lol badass! Congratulations!!!!

Shooting .22LR is $

Shooting .223 is $$$

Shooting .308 is $,$$$

Shooting .50 BMG is $$,$$$

Shooting .338 Lapua is $$$,$$$,$$$

You'll never find a 30-round mag in .338 Lapua. That's not because the .338 Lapua is too big to carry around 30 of them at a time in a magazine; it's because nobody in the history of the world has ever been able to afford to own 30 rounds of .338 Lapua at any one time. In non-frenzy ammo pricing on bargain brand ammo, every time you pull the trigger, you slay a lincoln. Way to go, JWB...

Yeah, I can't imagine owning a gun for which a 20 rd box would cost me $150.

If you made $200 an hour it'd be pretty easy.

While I agree that a large caliber semi-auto is great tool for a sniping-of-human-beings-at-long-range-in-combat role, I just can't see the cost-vs.-anything benefit for a civilian. If you've got the cash and it's your thing, then great, but I'm honestly kinda "meh" other than the cool factor.
