Yet Another Gun Thread

If I could get this gun for $1200 new with the RIF2 system. Essentially $900 less than MSRP. Is it worth it to build your own?
Is 5.56 still a good option when compared to the .300 blackout?
The goal of any diy build would be for a target/match quality build.

Hurm, anything over 1k i'd rather hand pick the majority of parts.
So I shot the Shadowized (still needs single action trigger put in) SP01 today... going to trade for it. Really enjoyable to shoot, must add to collection.
I also found a used Benelli m1 Super 90 today... for a steal and left a deposit. Been wanting a Benelli since I shot a buddies m2 last year.

It also depends on what you want, lots of the guys have posted up all kinds of deals in this thread. Good stuff to build a decent AR.
My personal focus for builds has so far began with the barrel/comp/bcg. Then the rest of mostly used parts.

Case: Comes with Custom Daniel Defense Full-Latch Impact Plastic Case
You can't compare 5.56 to 300blk by any standard of measure. I had a hard-on for a few months to build a 300blk upper strictly for hunting in lieu of buying a 30cal bolt gun, and realized I was kidding myself.
My current take on 300blk:
Subsonics: might as well buy a 1911 with lasergrips.
Supersonics: for the price of an upper, get a Ruger American in .308 instead.

That's the Rock River Arms LAR-47. Basically a billet 7.62x39 standard AR Upper on a custom designed billet lower which will accept AK magazines, solving the feeding issue common of 7.62x39 AR's..
