So apparently, it is unpossible to find a gun safe that is:
The last part is apparently the deal-breaker. Only a couple of places make left-hinged safes and they are all way too large for the space I have available (e.g. Ft. Knox).
Here are a couple I found that would work, but again - no left-hinged is a deal breaker.
Quick Access Biometric Rifle Safe by Barska - Biometric Safe by Barska
- Less than 22" wide and deep
- At least 40" tall
- Left-hinged

If you go back and check out the pictures I posted, you'll notice there are machine lines visible inside and on the top of the hammer well. My particular unit was slated to be scrapped because of these marks, the owner of the company is of the opinion that is not acceptable so it didn't pass QC.
That barrel is full of QC Rejects from the past week. Told him I'll come down and give the company scrap value for the barrel.. Doubt they'd go for it.
Here's a batch waiting to be assembled post-qc:

Dropped into local Walmart (again, busiest Walmart in all Hampton Roads) at 11am and found 3 boxes of 375ct CCI 22lr... the stuff they advertise for use in semi-autos. It was $24 box. I hunted down a guy to open the cage and when we got back to the cage, there were 2 other guys waiting. Being the nice guy that I am, and being 6'5", they didn't argue when I "suggested" that we just split the 3 boxes. I could have been a dick and taken all 3 for myself, but that's not how I roll.
The SG guy said they got in 3 cases of the stuff the day before... bummer I didn't show up an hour earlier. Still, another first-hand example of the dam breaking.

I can't make any promises. There may be a good chance I could get us some "blemished" carriers, complete bcg's will be a little tougher. Will work my magic and see what comes of it...
Man I haven't seen a single box of .22lr in a store for almost 7 months and I'm almost out.. Only have about 1300 rounds left. While that sounds like a lot, a complete day shooting on the farm I used to blow through 1000 rounds.
I lol'd. The guy is a complete perfectionist to a retarded level. Understand the fact that he wants to deliver the absolute best product his customers $$$ possibly can. Clearly those machine marks made my BCG not work...amirite?
Fun rifle with a little kick.. My buddy Cliff shooting his fathers WWII vintage Garand.
+1. Keep fingers away from the bolt! That rifle scares me when loading!
I give up on going to walmart for ammo. Four trips so far to stores their stupid app shows has ammo in stock, this is the result:
Drive to store:
I signed up for KCCC (Kansas City Corporate Challenge) to compete in trap shooting for my company but had to drop out.. Can't find any goddamn 12 gauge target loads:
Took a trip to Cabela's tonight and scored 5 boxes (that's their limit) of Tulammo .223 and a couple boxes of Herter's 12 gauge 00-Buck shot that looked fun at $5.99/box... Can I comment; Cabela's has a 5 box of centerfire rifle/pistol ammo even in mixed cal, 2 box limit of .22lr, and 50 box limit for shotshells.. Really???

IMPOSSIBLE!!! But the thought of a "below retail" part of anykindatallwhastoever has left me a little hard. Sending "blemished" parts back to the smelter is a good way to get a reputation as a dipshit in today's market. If that guy has a buddy who can keep his mouth shut (even if the buyers know the source), that guy can gain a following for life.
I might even be persuaded to buy retail for a full BCG from a guy who would sell me a "blemished" part in the current market. After a few dozen rounds, ever part is blemished after all.

i had no issues loading. shot very well, a bullseye in my first eight rounds at 25 yards standing. first time shooting a rifle. i have trouble since I'm right handed but my left eye is dominate. it feels unnatural to use my right eye and my glasses hit the stock. but i shot it much better than a glock at 9 yards. my shoulder is bruised.
