**** no... I'm going flat black on all my personal guns.

Bending that flat was super easy. Only took about 2000 worth of tools, time, and skill to fabricate a jig for stamping, riveting, and drilling..

If I had a .40 Glock/Sub2k I'd trade for a 9mm setup too, but I have neither currently with exception to the glock 40. Check out Lone Wolf 40-9 9mm conversions barrels for G21/G22 models? About 100 bux and G17/G19 magazines allows you to fire 9mm from your .40 glock and they're reliable. Not CCW reliable, but plinking at the range and have fun for dirt cheap reliable.

Speaking of reloading, I'm tired of crawling around on the ground to retrieve my brass. Really love how cheap it is to load leads rounds especially, but it kinda takes some of the fun away to hunt and search for empties. The glock at least puts them all in the same place, after it hammers the damn thing on the roof for a giant dent in the mouth where the keltec just says, "I think I'll throw this one over this way and the next over there.."

This is what I did this weekend. I went through 10 lbs of tannerite, it was fun and that someone heard it about 4 miles away.

Headed to my first Louisiana gunshow this weekend. Still looking for a .380 carry piece and can't decide.

LCP
DB .380
Bodyguard .380
Keltec P3AT
Hellcat
Bersa Thunder
Kahr
etc...

I've picked them all up several times and thought I'd made up my mind several times, but still haven't bought one.

Ruger P93? I looked at them, but I'd like something bigger then .380 personally. IIRC they seemed to get good reviews.

LCP shoots like dookie, P3AT is cheap copy of LCP, stay away from both!

If you're looking to go "bigger" than any of the sub-compact .380's, then the Keltec PF-9 or LC9 might be the ticket. I loved the feel of the SR9C, but if I was going to go that big, a Glock 26 for the same price might be a better choice, plus then you get mag compatibility with KelTec Sub2000's... if and when they're ever available again.

I've never liked DAO in general... my big hands mean I'm out on my fingertip to get enough controllable trigger travel. But if you want small and "safe", DAO has advantages though. I really like the smallest Bersa Thunder in .380... actual DA/SA and a traditional safety/decocker, but they're a pinch bigger than the usual suspects. There's a good chance I'll finally get something this weekend.

Kel-Tec was there first.

And my P3AT works just fine, thanks. Goes bang when I pull the trigger.

Documented fact. The P3AT was designed after the Kel-Tec P32 which entered production in 1999, almost 10 years before the LCP came along. Between the P3AT and LCP, they're pretty much mechanically identical anyway.

Pay more for the pretty finish of the ruger, or buy the same god damn gun from Keltec for like $100.00 less. Both shoot the exact same.

Guess my PF9 is a copy of the LC9 then?

If you can't make accurate DAO shots with a small pistol and have accurate followups then you're doing it wrong. Standing with two hands I can hit 12x12 steel plates at 50 meters with my PF9. When it warms up I'll get video of it. Trigger. Control.

In my personal opinion, owning a DAO, SAO, DA/SA, and Striker fired pistols there really isn't any shooting difference between DAO and striker. You can easily swap in a different connector and get a lighter trigger for the striker fired, which is really the only difference in feel from my perspective. Before typing this I dry fired several times my PF9 (DAO) and G22 (striker) to compare. Factory G22 trigger feels about the same weight as my PF9 trigger, only a little lighter.

Sam, have you considered the Sig?

Baby 1911 in .380acp FTW...

Here is an overlay of a P238 and LCP:

...Sam, have you considered the Sig?...
I've always been a decent shot... not bragging, and far from "expert", but shooting comes very natural. Never shot one of the .380's at 50yds, but I can make consistent 6" centermass shots with quick enough followup with the LCP and Bodyguard to make me feel completely comfortable at whatever the max travel of the target at my local range... probably 20yds. Taking my time and working at it, I can do far better.

I can do "my part", but I'm also 6'4" and my hands are big... the smaller guns present a challenge to us big guys in the realm of "trigger control".

I didn't consider the Sig because I'm trying to stay under $300 for the gun... the Sig is about $500 and I the extra $200 buys me a lifetime of ammo for a cheaper and equally as effective .380. In other words, I like the Bersa +1000rds over the Sig.

If you have not fired them, do yourself a favor and find some buddies or a range with rentals. I have a very strong love/hate relationship with my LCP: I love the ease of carry (can toss it in the pocket of some gym shorts to walk the dogs) but hate the way it shoots.

Personal opinion here, but If you want to shoot 50yds you might look elsewhere from the subcompact .380. If you want to shoot someone car jacking you. I would recomend the LCP for it ease of carry. It shoots bullets and they hurt and point blank range.

I am NOT against hunting, but why does everyone that is showing off their deer sit, holding the head up, smiling like they are best friends? It is meat. You just killed it. Hang it and gut it, then take the pictures.

Only two deer I have ever shot, both 7 points, within five minutes of one another, AND they were quick kills. I would feel very bad if I didnt get clean kills. I am quite proud of the above, hence the smile. I prefer hunting hogs. They are much less friendly, so I dont feel bad shooting them.
