Big shout outs to SRI Racing 2 for not doing their fuel calculations correctly and taking a 5 minute timeout with 15 minutes left in the race. We couldn't have done it without you.

ROFL.

When I saw them come in I was like uhhhhhhhhhhh.

I'd also like to thank Bimmerline for using pro drivers to come out nowhere and knock us down a podium, and physically as you take corners like you would in mario kart, banking off others.

I was wondering why the 'ell SRI pitted with a few laps to go...

Naturally I was watching rmonitor from the comfort of my home crying into a beer.

Congrats to the NAMCO guys. Does P5 get a trophy of any sorts?

Yep, very happy for the podium finish; they got robbed last year.

Were were in the top 10 for the majority of the race (maybe 2 hours outside of that), but those bimmers are just too fast on the straights for a little miata to compete with. SRI and Bimmerline slowly climbed the ranks at the end. We sat in 3rd for a while, so that was pretty cool.

Oh yeah, I took a bunch of pictures of an integra on track thinking it was Simon Sez's car; I got the wrong one. I thought it was the blue 4-dr the entire race.

I did get one neat shot of it on the track at night; I'll post it later.

I had a long slow drive home. Almost ran out of gas somewhere in the middle of 29 in NC. The race was a good time. It was good to see members again and I hope you all got stickers. I am still completely exhausted today and the plan is to do as minimal as possible at work.

We ran into too many problems, most of all was a vision problem in the misty conditions. We were so far down the order and our drivers didn't feel safe, we parked out until in the morning and went out for testing and crew exercises.

This thread needs race pics...and glamour head shots! Congratulations to NAMCO!

Looking forward to this for next year, team decided not to go this year as we had too many local midwest races close by in timing. Next year we will scrap them and go for broke out at VIR...and hopefully not break.

The weather reduced my pictures to nearly nil. I have some interesting shots of cars in the rain; that's about it. No one was really in the mood.

They are talking about doing 38 hours at VIR next year. NAMCO will probably not be out if they do that long of a race. If they are not out, I will be gladly come help crew for you guys.

I think we were pitted right across from you. If you saw a black Mazda2 and a red NA being lost in the pits around 11am (when you were loading up the Integra), that was us.

As for SRI #2 pitting in... Initially we thought it was a drive-through to reduce penalty laps for the potential gap... But then we saw them hanging out at the end of the pit, so maybe they got black flagged? We saw the lead for SRI was hauling *** to see why his car was being held up. One of the guys from Team NAMCO said they put in 2 gallons of gas in with 10-15 minutes to go in the race; 5 minute minimum in the pits. Chump car is just like F1: it all comes down to the time in the pits. :v

Thanks to Brain for taking pics on the podium. I was going to have a local friend do it, but he's kind of a luddite and was very apprehensive to try to take the podium pictures. I take it that your Nikon and Tamrons aren't weather sealed? (Camerachat: I think the X-T1 is sealed and Fuji has a handful of sealed glass coming out soon)

I was the ******* who responded "Nah" to the "WHO WANTS TO RACE FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS!?" from John.

I think a 38 hour race could be very interesting. If you do the start time of 10PM Friday night, then finish at noon on Sunday, it would not be horrible.

Unseasoned as I am, 38 seems like A LOT. Our team mentioned they wouldn't want to do it with just four drivers. The lack of response from the crowd suggested similar attitudes. Would this race replace the 24 hour or would it be in addition to it?

All your problems would have been solved if you removed the windshield RX-8 style! We had some interesting solutions to maintain visibility.

They both are; I was actually out there in very heavy rain. I was using a ziplock bag as a rain sleeve, just because, and alongside the track I used two flash/umbrella stands to stay out of the elements myself using my shoot through umbrellas as cover. I wasn't worried about the equipment in the rain, it was ME in the rain that I didn't like.

they did a driver swap, and we though the same thing, but then we noticed they added a little gas, so they were forced to hang out in the pits. I dont think they thought that one though; because they were rushing it, then we watched them sit at the exit. lols

we were 28 seconds behind Ronald at the end. We were hoping to stay ahead after our last pit, but didn't time it right ourselves; not that we had much choice.

What's up next on everyone's schedule? Is anyone planning to come out to the new Corvette Museum for the 7+7 race on October 19-20th?
