Hampton Roads Dyno Day!!!
All right, I'm gonna do the legwork on this thing.
There are about a dozen dynos in the area, and I've still gotta do the homework on which one to go with and how we're gonna work the whole deal.
We figure out how many people want "IN" and then schedule a 1/2 day or full day. Some dudes will need more time than others. Guys with bandaid setups might need 3-4 runs to tune their fuel and mess with timing. EMS guys might need 6-8 pulls. Some will need WBO2, and some won't. The average car should take a little less than 1/2 hour and guys can show up throughout the morning/day so everybody isn't stuck there the whole time.
This thing also would not be limited to Miatas... but no AWD. Feel free to drive from as far away as you want. Costs would be split as evenly as possible, unless somebody wanted a little more time or special circumstances. I'll foot the bill and collect cash the day of.
So, I need to get a rough list of who's interested. I'm shooting for a mid-late March timeframe to give us time to plan.
Lots more info and specifics to come.
Who is interested?

I can set this up through All Aspects if you want Sam. They can do AWD cars, so there wouldn't be any limitations.
I spent all day yesterday on their dyno, but I'm sure I'll come hang out and maybe throw it up there for a run or two.
Pick an autocross weekend and we can set up a dyno day on Saturday, then I can school you boys runnin' around the cones on Sunday. Our 1st event at ACU-4 is March 16th.

^That's the best offer I've heard. I talked with Chris today and he's gonna do some legwork on securing us a date and location. I think that middle weekend in March is perfect. It's always good to get out to the first AutoX of the year when nobody is sorted and there's a full gaggle of noobs w/no clue.
Right now, people can start looking on their calendars for the weekend of 13-14March and securing those days for hitting the dyno.

I talked to All Aspects today....
We are penciled in for March 15th from 8:30 till ????
For 3 pulls, the cost will be $45
For 1 hour of tuning (you tuning, not them), the cost will be $75.
Sam we need to set up a time schedule and assign people to slots. 3 pulls will take approx 30min. One hour tuning will take approx 1 hour- 15min. 15min of load/unload time.
Who's coming?
Anybody interested in Autocross on the 16th? I need to know who is coming in advance. My events fill up fast and being that this is the 1st event of the year after a 3 month break, it's going to fill up even faster.

I'm in for that date. I'll want to put the MS through it's paces, so I'll probably need an hour. I'll be doing a ****-ton of street-tuning until then so hopefully it'll just be fine-tuning.
So, who is in? Shawn(fourwhls) and I will be monitoring and updating this thread and keeping track.
If you're going to be making a long'ish drive, just mention the distance and we'll put you in for late morning or whatever is appropriate.
Anyone in the area will also be welcome/encouraged to stop by and watch the fun.

^Edited... long day flying.
Sorry, I'm a jerk... one of the Miatanutz guys is named Chris and I had just sent him an email. I also put the word out on the little yahoo board they've got so we should get some participation there.

Only problem with that date is it scheduled when us NOVA guys are already having a get together. If you guys move it to another weekend, there wuld prob be several NOVA guys that would com down.

How about the 22nd? Does that work better?
Once a date has been selected, we probably need to call around to some hotels and see if we can get some good rates.
Maybe Jim, I mean Ralph, no Craig...wait a minute Sam is his name...Sam can sweet talk a hotel manager into hooking us up.
