Remember when they grid cars, it was in 2 lines. Obviously I was in the opposite line you, Woolery and a few others were in. That said, I had 2 cars pass me that weekend, one was the Kraftwerks car and the other was Sav. In Sav's case, I got held up because we were both going through traffic @ the end of the session. The Kraftwerks Miata pass was explained in my original post.

This wasn't a race, but to infer that everyone else was just "traffic" was incorrect. FWIW, this is just my second time driving Laguna.
If it was B group, that was me in Savington's car.
And BTW, it was most people's first time driving Laguna. My second but big change from Saturday in my Spec Miata.

I do agree that everyone in B was just traffic, but then again I usually run A and pass people in my 100hp Miata.

So, this is a "my dicks bigger than yours" topic now? Well, OK then, traffic stopped me from returning the favor when you passed me between T4-T5. You came in after T9a-T10.

Really dude, it's no big deal, it wasn't a race and I didn't have a transponder to compare times w/ anyway. I was just out having fun and I hope that's what you were busy doing too.

FWIW, I also usually run A, however I do know that a few guys in that group were recent enrollees into HPDE and I didn't feel comfortable running w/ them. I usually run w/ CFRA (not this year though as $$$ is a bit tight) and a few SV events (Cali Speedway ROVAL and BW)

It's entirely possible you guys were just released at different times and were too similar in setup and talent to catch one another. I saw both of you go out plenty.

We ran NT01's all weekend. Put the A6's on for the last session on Sunday where I did 4 laps I think, Charles did 3 on them while running out of gas. His outlap from a standing start on them was probably his fastest lap as it cut out exiting 11 on his first flying lap. That's why the video stops after 10. He did one more lap with the car cutting out on the turn exits then pulled it in and we packed it up. No time to refuel and go back out.

I think he had been turning high 1:41's or maybe :42's with a passenger and low boost on the NT01's consistently all weekend so I suspect a clean lap with a 1/4 tank, the high boost setting, no passenger and the A6's would have been good for a low 1:38 but we never got the chance to prove it.

But to answer your question about the tires, not very damn long.

This weren't my best laps since it was either the 2nd or 3rd session, but here's me chasing down a car with a GT3071R (or at least turbo that big) and FM's Westfield in the process. That NA must have a lot of power to pull on the straight.

YouTube - Laguna Seca - The Duel

I wished I had signed up another day to get a really fast solo lap in, but I ended up settling for a 1:43-44 with a passenger (according to my friend's camera on the last session of Saturday at least). My camera batteries died halfway through the day, but I'm hoping to download the footage from him soon to post the fast lap.

Snowboarder. Looking at the vid and how you wring and stretch you hands occasionally I'd guess you could soften up on the steering wheel! Keep em nice and relaxed. No need to death grip it.

Wish I coulda made the trip. Looks like a great weekend.

Yeah you definately weren't joking when you said that APR wing keeps the car firmly planted. Boosting through corners with good traction looks fun. This is with your splitter too isnt it? laps look good man. I wish I didnt live in the southeast.

Sav's car had enough traction that after a few laps my neck was feeling a bit sore! This is with his "tie-dye carbon fiber" front splitter, yes.

Sorry if I caused any confusion, haha. Tie-dye CF was what I was calling it the night prior when I met Savington at registration.
