Default Mid-South MC?

Just thinking about a cheap 'get-together' for the locals SE guys. Track would be 'lil Talledega. Here's the web-site with leasing info. Get enough people commited to go and we could have a blast! Who's interested? I suspect amybe $100/person - lots of track time

I would be down if it werent so far away. There are a lot of things (which im sure you have thought of) to make sure you have, EV. cornerworkers, some form of race control? ect.

I'll give TGPR a call when I get back in town and get some details... like corner workers, insurance, ect - a total cost estimate so we can break it down to an individual cost. I was thinking a 2-day event sat/sun. Week days will be cheaper, but turn-out will be lower.

I say we make it a timed event - other wise what's the point? But then we'd have to be sure every one has transponders - those in for the win anyway - or use android trackmaster

^ neither of which I have. but as long as all of the bases are covered. I would be interested in doing it for the seat time. I just want to make sure everyone is safe more than anything else. In for results!

Cheap? Well talked with TGPR and a sat/sun w/insurance and 4 fbf corner workers ea day ~$9200 - that's $4600/day, O/N camping allowed. 30 cars = $300 for weekend each. What do guys think? The more guys the cheaper the price gets, but also decrease in track time - maybe. Timing and scoring - haven't a clue who to contact about renting a system. TGPR has the wire in the track but nothing else.

Hmmm, 3oo is about what scca is for a weekend (2days) for 1hr20 min each day... with only 30 cars we could easily get more track time than that.

Chattanooga SCCA region did 20 cars for $100 each earlier this year.

Would we really have a bigger turn-out than 20?

I'd be in for this.

EDIT: I read the whole post and saw how the price escalated. Still, $300 for two days is good. how does it compare to Barber? 30 cars seems like it might be a tough push unless you open it up to be whatever car someone decides to run.

20 cars? Dunno, I would hope so - that must have been a single day - even cheaper on the weekdays. BUT SSCA has insurance coverage, we wouldn't. I've been there at Z Nationals for $100/day. Nasa mid-south is slightly more.

We may have to open it up to other non-miata folks. I know several locals that woujld jump in.
