Ok, so I FINALLY have confirmation of a reservation for 30 at 7pm on Saturday the 1st. I'm going to ask that they add "MiataTurbo" to the group name.

Here are the notes they wanted me to pass along:
  • We will be seated at 3x tables of 10
  • They have "a very strict seating policy" (her words, not mine, repeated twice) and will seat each group of 10 about 5-10 minutes apart to reduce load on the servers and kitchen. Be prepared to wait a little bit if we all show up in one big group.
  • It's actually listed as 3 separate reservations, 7:00, 7:10, 7:20
  • No separate checks, one check per table
  • Bring cash or one person per table can use a card to cover the table
  • The menu is on the website, please familiarize yourself with it so you can be ready to order ( http://www.carmelcantina.com/wp-cont...ner-1-1-16.pdf )
I think that is about it. I assured her we were all adults and can generally follow instructions but she still sounded nervous

Got questions?

I'll probably just leave the RS3s at home and drive to the track on the NT-01s like I did last year. Its like what, 10 miles? Not even worth hooking up the trailer and changing the tires.

At least I'm not going to be breaking in pads on the highway on the way to the track this year. Or better yet, like Ed did on the service roads around the track and in the paddock

My wife, who works for Monterey County Sheriffs Department, has informed me that the place gets pretty rough on Saturday nights. Apparently its not uncommon that they have to send deputies out to break up fights and arrest people, usually 2-3 times a month. Usually after 10pm though

So we should be fine.

Sorry for missing the tags, I'd been lurking in the bike thread without signing in...

I'm most likely out, have to fly to Georgia this weekend and for some reason "they" still haven't been able to tell me what day I fly, but the class I'm attending starts Monday the 3rd, so I'm expecting Saturday.

Try not to get kicked off the patio TOO fast...

Heh, yeah. Eventually people will realize that Carmel Valley ≠ Carmel-By-The-Sea.

I very narrowly avoided arrest after a bar fight over at The Running Iron not so many years ago, and I know some guys who got hospitalized after a beat down at a house party back in the Valley simply because they "were not known people" at the party. Its not always a fabulous place, but the spillover from Carmel has driven the property values up and that pressure caused a lot of the rednecks and meth heads to sell and move further back up into the hills or out to Prunedale. Of course even Prunedale is starting to get civilized pretty damn quickly from what I've seen.

BUT! We'll miss you! I wanted to oogle the pinnacle of 90's supercar engineering on a budget that is your NSX. (No offence intended)
